Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Civil Engineering professional to lead tunneling operations, including EPB TBM activities, shafts and cross passages. You will provide technical direction, manage multiple TBMs, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on a complex underground project.

The role requires coordinating design, geotechnical and construction teams, optimizing productivity, and controlling costs while delivering on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Overall planning, execution and management of tunneling activities including EPB TBM operations, shafts and cross passages.
• Provide technical leadership and decision-making for tunneling in mixed ground and hard rock conditions.
• Coordinate TBM operations across multiple machines for optimized productivity, safety and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, designs, method statements, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Lead risk identification and mitigation related to geology, ground behavior, TBM performance and hyperbaric interventions.
• Interface with design, geotechnical, monitoring and construction teams to align engineering intent with site execution.
• Oversee planning, scheduling and progress monitoring to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Manage resources including manpower, plant, consumables and subcontractors.
• Review and approve tunneling methodologies, TBM parameters and performance reports.
• Support contractual administration, claims management and client/consultant coordination.
• Foster a strong safety culture to achieve zero-harm objectives.
