Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead the enterprise risk management function for our mutual fund/asset management organization. The CRO will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating all types of risks—investment, operational, regulatory, and reputational—ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives and compliance with regulatory guidelines (SEBI, AMFI, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a robust risk management framework and policies in line with regulatory and internal governance standards.

Establish risk appetite and tolerance limits in consultation with senior leadership and the board.

Act as the key liaison with regulators on all risk-related matters.

Monitor portfolio risks including market, credit, liquidity, and concentration risks.

Ensure appropriate controls and tools are in place to track performance volatility and benchmark adherence.

Review and challenge investment decisions from a risk perspective.

Operational & Enterprise Risk Management

Identify operational risks across front, middle, and back-office functions and drive mitigation strategies.

Lead risk reviews, scenario analysis, and stress testing exercises.

Oversee incident reporting, root cause analysis, and control remediation.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

Ensure ongoing compliance with SEBI, AMFI, and global risk regulations where applicable.

Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, board committees, and regulators.

Guide internal audit and compliance teams on risk-related aspects.

Promote a proactive risk culture across the organization through training, communication, and collaboration.

Conduct regular risk assessments and workshops with business units.

Qualifications:

CA/CFA/MBA or equivalent; FRM or PRM certification is highly desirable.
