Job summary

TopGear Consultants Pvt Ltd. is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Management professional to oversee risk across Operations and IT in Mumbai. You will lead RCSA, risk event management, root cause analysis, and governance to strengthen controls and regulatory alignment.

The role requires professional qualifications such as CA/FRM/MBA in Finance or Risk Management, plus IT risk expertise. Collaboration with Audit, Compliance, Legal, and IT teams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the Operational Risk Management Framework in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
• Maintain and periodically update the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) library across Operations and IT.
• Conduct risk identification, risk assessments, and control evaluations across business and functional teams.
• Monitor operational risk events, loss data, near-miss incidents, and emerging risk trends.
• Perform root cause analysis for material operational risk events and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Track and ensure timely closure of risk issues, audit findings, and policy dispensations.
• Support the implementation of new risk initiatives, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide risk advisory support for process changes, new products, and business initiatives.
• Prepare risk dashboards, management reports, and presentations for senior management and risk committees.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, Operations, IT, and Information Security teams to strengthen risk mitigation and controls.
• Conduct risk awareness sessions and training programs across departments.
• Escalate unresolved or high-risk issues to relevant stakeholders and risk committees.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Operational Risk Management professional to manage operational and IT-related risks, strengthen the internal control environment, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The role will focus on Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), operational risk events, audit issue management, root cause analysis, and risk governance across Operations and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• 812 years of relevant experience in Operational Risk Management, Risk Management, or IT Operations Risk.
• Experience in RCSA, operational risk event management, audit issue tracking, and regulatory compliance.
• Prior experience in the Life Insurance sector is preferred.
• Understanding of IRDAI regulatory guidelines and risk governance practices.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of Operational Risk Management and risk frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in RCSA and risk event management.
• Knowledge of IT Operations Risk and IT governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, risk reporting, and documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Life Asia will be an advantage.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
