Role Overview

Responsibilities

The Chief Infrastructure Architect is responsible for leading the design of infrastructure architecture patterns and solutions in alignment with CHUBB’s global infrastructure standards and principles. This role plays a strategic part in promoting and supporting those standards within the organization.

Develop infrastructure architecture patterns and solutions ensuring alignment with defined strategies and frameworks, including automation.
Responsible for cloud, datacenter and hybrid infrastructure services design.
Support the evolution of infrastructure architecture roadmaps and reference models, facilitating the enablement and adoption of global platforms within the enterprise.
Advocate technology solution governance processes execution, enforcing alignment to defined patterns and technology standards across all regions and business units.
Act as an enabler of Agile and DevSecOps practices in collaboration with product delivery and operation support teams.
Explore, evaluate, and promote technology innovation within the enterprise.
Evaluate, learn, and assist teams with open-source technology solutions.
Optimization and rationalization of Infrastructure Vendors and Technologies.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure platform architecture designs and roadmaps.
Identify potential risks in infrastructure solutions and develop mitigation strategies.
Mentor and train junior architects and team members on patterns and standards.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
Drive automation of infrastructure operations through AI and other technologies.
Enable infrastructure economics leading decisions on the most cost-effective deployment models including cloud.
Responsible for infrastructure impact and risks analysis, while managing technical and architectural debt.

Skills And Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree or a related field
10+ Years of experience in the infrastructure domain.
Minimum of five years of experience in at least two Architecture disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development
Extensive knowledge and experience of platform architectures, from strategies and roadmaps to solution design and implementation
Experience in the development of architecture patterns and standards
Experience in multiple and diverse platforms, technologies and processing environments (Wintel, UNIX, Mainframe)
Experience in Information Security and Risk Management
Experience in cloud solution design and implementation of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS and hybrid models
Experience of Desktop, Server, Network and Storage Virtualization technology solutions.
