Job summary

Next Generation Designing and End of Line Packaging in Pune seeks a CHRO to architect organization design, talent, culture, and administrative infrastructure for a growing capital goods business.

You will lead engineering and manufacturing talent acquisition, compensation benchmarking, shop-floor skilling, industrial relations and compliance, and group HR governance across subsidiaries, including deputations domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in HR is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree; engineering background advantageous.
  • Experience leading HR in manufacturing or engineering-led, multi-site organizations.

Role Description

The CHRO is the strategic architect of organization design, talent, culture, and administrative infrastructure. The role spans talent acquisition for specialized engineering, automation, and manufacturing roles; compensation and benefits benchmarking suitable for a growing capital goods business; learning and development including a shop-floor skilling academy; industrial relations and statutory compliance across a manufacturing workforce inclusive of contract labour; HR business partnering for corporate, plant, and project‑site teams (including deputation to customer sites domestically and internationally); and building leadership succession pipelines across engineering, operations, and commercial functions.


The CHRO also owns end-to-end administration facilities, security, travel, insurance, and vendor‑managed admin services across the corporate office and plant together with employee engagement, performance management, and the overall employer brand as the company competes for niche automation talent.


In addition, the CHRO is the group-level HR custodian providing HR governance, policy harmonization, and cultural stewardship not only for the company but also for its international subsidiaries for ensuring one consistent people framework and a shared set of organizational values across all entities.


To build and lead the people strategy that enables company's growth as a PAN-India and internationally operating industrial automation company attracting and retaining engineering and manufacturing talent, building a safety-, quality-, and values-first culture, ensuring robust industrial relations and statutory compliance across plant and project sites, and developing leadership bench strength for sustained business scale-up. The role also carries group-level HR responsibility, extending consistent people policy, compliance, and culture across its international subsidiaries and sister companies.


Qualifications


  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resource Management (mandatory)

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline; engineering background an advantage given the technical workforce


Preferred Certifications


  • SHRM-SCP / SHRM-CP

  • CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)

  • Certification in Labour Law / Industrial Relations

  • Certified Compensation Professional (preferred)


Experience

1622 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including a minimum of 57 years as CHRO/HR Head in a manufacturing or engineering-led organization with a multi-site (plant + project site) workforce of 500+ employees. Prior exposure to multi-entity/group HR structures and international subsidiary support is highly desirable.


Industry Experience


  • Industrial automation, material handling, or packaging machinery manufacturing (preferred)

  • Heavy engineering / capital goods manufacturing with unionized/contract workforce exposure

  • Project-based businesses requiring site deputation and multi-location HR management

  • Exposure to international workforce/expatriate management an advantage

  • Exposure to multi-business-line or group HR governance (e.g., manufacturing plus energy and/or IT/services entities) an advantage.
