Job summary

Emerging General Insurance Firm is seeking a Chief Data Architect to lead the enterprise data strategy and architecture for a new digital insurance JV. You will shape data-driven decision making, analytics, AI/ML and digital customer experiences across the business.

The role requires 15+ years in data architecture/engineering with 5–7 years in senior leadership, ideally in financial services or insurance, and a strong grasp of Indian regulatory requirements and technology landscape.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Data Architecture / Data Engineering / Enterprise Architecture.
• 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Financial Services/Insurance experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of Indian regulatory and technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise data strategy and architecture aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Design scalable and secure data architecture for insurance lines and future businesses.
• Establish standards for data modelling, integration, storage, governance and consumption.
• Lead cloud data platform initiatives across Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Build robust data integration frameworks connecting systems, channels and external platforms.
• Drive DataOps, data quality, metadata, lineage and data cataloguing.
• Enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, real-time analytics and self-service BI.
• Partner with business, actuarial, analytics and technology teams to translate needs into data solutions.
• Build, lead and mentor a high-performing data engineering team.
