Job summary

Med Karma Healthcare Solutions is seeking a senior professional to lead the Charge Entry team. You will oversee accuracy of patient demographics, insurance data, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding, and charge entry to meet daily productivity and quality targets.

You will validate charges against supporting documentation, ensure timely submission, and mentor staff. Strong HIPAA knowledge and process-improvement skills are essential for ongoing performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a charge entry or medical billing team.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, units and fee schedules.
• Familiarity with HIPAA standards and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Charge Entry team to meet productivity, quality, and TAT targets.
• Review and ensure accurate entry of patient demographics, insurance details, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes, modifiers, units, and charges.
• Validate charges against provider documentation and identify discrepancies.
• Ensure charges are entered and submitted within defined TAT and billing deadlines.
• Prepare MIS and performance reports daily/weekly/monthly.
• Train new hires and conduct process refreshers.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and client-specific requirements.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Job description

• Lead and manage the Charge Entry team to achieve daily productivity, quality, and turnaround-time targets.
• Review and ensure accurate entry of patient demographics, insurance information, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, units, and charges.
• Validate charges against provider documentation and identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information.
• Ensure charges are entered and submitted within defined TAT and billing deadlines.
• Monitor and maintain productivity, accuracy, quality, and SLA/KPI targets.
• Conduct regular audits and provide feedback/coaching to team members.
• Identify recurring charge entry errors and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Coding, AR, Payment Posting, Denial Management, and Client/Operations teams to resolve billing issues.
• Handle escalations and provide timely resolution to process-related queries.
• Prepare and share daily/weekly/monthly MIS and performance reports.
• Train new hires and conduct process refreshers for existing team members.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific requirements, payer guidelines, and HIPAA standards.
