About ElevenX Capital
ElevenX Capital is a growth-oriented investment firm focused on building, scaling, and optimizing portfolio companies across industries. We partner with entrepreneurs and businesses to accelerate value creation, drive operational excellence, and unlock growth opportunities. Our model is built around the exit: we create, acquire, and scale businesses with the explicit objective of realizing value through sale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused VP of Finance who can provide both strategic leadership and operational financial management. The role requires deep expertise in exit preparation, sell-side M&A negotiation, financial oversight, cost optimization, and performance management — both within ElevenX Capital and across our portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, producing GAAP-compliant, audit-ready financial statements for every portfolio company.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling processes to guide strategic decisions.
- Implement and enforce budget control mechanisms across the firm and portfolio companies.
- Consolidate financial data across businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency; standardize the chart of accounts, close calendar, and reporting package across the portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate, cut, and optimize costs to drive profitability and sustainable, defensible EBITDA.
02 Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Review and validate financial reporting of ElevenX Capital and portfolio companies.
- Provide financial diligence and oversight during investments fundraising, and exits.
- Support leadership with actionable insights on capital allocation, ROI, and performance optimization.
- Drive financial strategies that align with the firm’s growth and scaling goals and maximize portfolio exit value.
03 Negotiations & Contract Oversight
- Lead the financial terms of negotiations with clients, vendors, and employees, structuring key contracts to support enterprise value (recurring terms, assignability, and change-of-control provisions).
- Manage financial negotiations to ensure optimal outcomes for the firm and its portfolio companies, in partnership with Legal.
- Partner with legal and business teams to reduce risks and improve deal terms.
04 Performance Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with the Performance Management function to link company- and employee-level KPIs to financial outcomes.
- Support leadership in building compensation structures tied to performance and cost efficiency, including management incentive plans and transaction bonuses aligned to exit outcomes.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to track business, team, and portfolio performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, investment bankers, and QoE providers.
- Lead, mentor, and challenge finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Establish strong internal controls, compliance processes, and risk management frameworks.
- Ensure all finance team outputs and portfolio company reports are reviewed, validated, and optimized.
- Build finance teams, processes, and systems that scale across a rapidly growing portfolio without proportional headcount growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in investment firms, VC/PE-backed companies, or high-growth businesses.
- Strong track record in monthly closing, FP&A, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on experience in contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and employees.
- Deep understanding of corporate finance, accounting, tax, and legal frameworks, including transaction tax structuring and purchase agreement mechanics.
- Proven ability in performance management at both organizational and employee levels.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, or MBA in Finance strongly preferred.
What We’re Looking For
- A CFO who can guide strategically and also roll up their sleeves in day-to-day finance operations.
- An excellent negotiator and communicator, able to manage clients, vendors, employees, buyers, bankers, and investors.
- Someone who thinks like a buyer: views each portfolio company through an acquirer’s diligence lens and fixes issues before they cost value.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a focus on cost optimization and value creation.
- Someone who can “trust but verify” — ensuring finance teams and portfolio companies deliver accurate, high-quality work.
- An entrepreneurial, problem-solving mindset suited to a fast-paced, dynamic investment environment.
