ROLE OVERVIEW

The Chief Financial Officer (India) will lead the overall financial strategy and operations of the organization. Acting as the key business partner to the Managing Director, this role oversees finance, tax, reporting, internal controls, legal oversight, and strategic planning. The CFO will be responsible for shaping financial policies, strengthening governance, driving automation, and supporting both organic and inorganic growth plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounting & Tax Governance
  • Ensure all financial transactions adhere to local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, advisors, and authorities.
  • Oversee tax compliance, filings, and audits while optimising the company’s tax structure.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance reporting.
  • Deliver clear analysis and forward‑looking insights to leadership.
  • Drive automation within the finance function and broader organisation to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue optimisation, cost control, and process improvement.
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Establish, refine, and monitor financial policies and controls.
  • Strengthen internal audit processes and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Oversee risk management frameworks, governance processes, and AML‑related policies.
  • Implement training and documentation to reinforce a strong control environment.
4. Treasury & Cash Management
  • Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity, banking operations, and financial risk.
  • Improve financing structures, credit terms, cash collection processes, and banking efficiencies.
  • Provide regular cash analyses and recommendations to support business needs.
5. Leadership of the Finance & Legal Teams
  • Lead a team of 6–8 finance and legal professionals across multiple locations.
  • Build capability through coaching, career development, and clear performance metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative, tech‑enabled, high‑performance culture.
  • Mentor the Legal Manager on business‑related legal matters.
6. Support Organic & Inorganic Growth
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and global finance teams on new product deployments, market expansion initiatives, and commercial strategies.
  • Assess potential partnerships, investments, and acquisitions from a financial and strategic standpoint.
  • (Optional) Lead due diligence, deal execution, and integration for acquisitions if required.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 15+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles within tech, digital, or high‑growth industries.
  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance; Chartered Accountant preferred.
  • Proven ability to scale finance operations and business performance.
  • Experience in acquisitions, integrations, or global system rollouts.
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
