Job description

CEO’s Office

Mid Level (2-5 years)

Posted 4/28/2026

We are hiring 2-3 generalists into the CEO's Office to own the most important question at Bounce: how do we launch cities fast, fix cities that are underperforming, and scale cities that are working. This is not a strategy role. This is a get-on-a-flight, set-up-the-hub, hire-the-team, fix-the-funnel, leave-it-running role. You will be embedded in a city for 4-12 weeks at a time, then redeployed wherever the next problem is. Over 18 months you will have launched cities from zero, turned around stuck cities, and built the playbooks that let Bounce scale to every major Indian metro. You will report directly to the CEO and operate as an extension of the founding team. Each of you will own one of three mandates, though everyone will rotate:

  • City Launch: Take a new city from zero to 500 scooters deployed in 60 days. Own hub identification, RTO registrations, local hiring (city manager, ops, mechanics, marketing), employer pre‑seeding, soft launch campaign, and handoff. We are launching 3-4 cities in the next 90 days. you are the launch lead.
  • Growth & Retention: Own the daily net deployment number for a city or set of cities. Diagnose where the funnel is leaking — top‑of‑funnel, KYC, deposit, hub throughput, or post‑onboarding churn — and ship the fix. Live inside the rider data, sit at hubs, ride with delivery partners on shift, and run structured experiments on pricing, plans, and onboarding flow.
  • Marketing & Demand: Own the awareness and acquisition machine in a city. Spans digital (Meta, YouTube Shorts, gig‑worker programmatic), on‑ground (delivery handoff points, tea stalls, EV swap stations, employer warehouses), referral programs (Porter x Bounce, Bounce Sixer), and brand partnerships (Wakefit, Cure Foods). You will manage a meaningful monthly budget and be measured on cost per activation and unaided brand recall.
What You Will Do in Your First 90 Days

If you are placed on a launch:

  1. You will fly to the new city in week one, scout 3‑5 hub locations, lock the lease, file RTO paperwork, hire a city manager and core team, coordinate inventory dispatch from Bhiwadi, close 1‑2 employer pre‑seed partnerships locally, run the soft launch, and hit 200 active riders by day 60.

If you are placed on a fix:

You will spend two weeks diagnosing riding with delivery partners, sitting in hubs through onboarding, pulling apart the funnel data, talking to riders who exited and then ship 3‑5 specific interventions over the following 6 weeks, each with a measurable target. Common pattern: a city is stuck because returns exceed activations, the hub can’t process more than 8 onboardings a day, and local marketing has gone stale. Each is fixable; you fix it.

If you are placed on a scale:

You will take a city that is working and figure out what doubling looks like. Where do the next 500 scooters go? Which employer relationship is now the bottleneck? What needs to happen to the hub footprint? What does service capacity need to look like to keep uptime above 92%.

Requirements
  • What Success Looks Like in 12 Months:
    1. You have personally launched 1‑2 cities to 500+ active scooters each.
    2. You have turned around at least one underperforming city, with a documented before/after on net deployment.
    3. You have written and tested 2‑3 playbooks the rest of the company now uses (city launch, hub diagnostic, marketing channel).
    4. The CEO trusts you with problems before they are fully defined.
  • Who You Are: You probably have 3‑6 years of work experience. The strongest candidates we expect to see come from management consulting (BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Kearney) with operating chops and a willingness to live in a Tier‑1 hotel for a month at a time; city launch or city ops roles at Swiggy, Zomato, Rapido, Dunzo, Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, Porter, Ola, Uber, Urban Company, Country Delight; founder’s office or chief of staff roles at well‑run startups; growth or marketing roles at consumer companies where you owned a P&L number, not just a creative brief.
  • What we care about more than the resume:
    • You move. The job is fundamentally about closing the gap between a problem being identified and a problem being fixed. People who deliberate well but execute slowly will not enjoy this role.
    • You handle range. A hub at 7am, a CXO meeting at 11am, a spreadsheet at 4pm, and a call with a rider at 9pm. The range is the job.
    • You think in numbers. You can build a city P&L, run a cohort retention analysis, and explain why CAC moved 18% week‑over‑week. You don’t outsource the math.
    • You write well. Clear, brief, structured. The CEO and the board will read what you write.
    • You travel. This role is roughly half‑time on the road for the first year. If that is a deal‑breaker, this is not the right role.
Benefits & Next Steps

A founding seat in the CEO's Office at the most operationally complex consumer mobility business in India. You will see how a real company is built manufacturing, fleet, software, demand, debt, equity at close range. Direct daily exposure to the CEO, founding team, and board. The next operating leaders of Bounce will come from this team.

Compensation: 25-45L total cash depending on level, plus meaningful ESOPs. We pay competitively for people who deliver. A clear career path. After 18-24 months in CEO's Office, the standard next step is running a city, running a function, or running a new business line at Bounce.
