Job summary

University of York - Computer Science is seeking a Centre Co-Ordinator to support the day-to-day operations of a Specialist Centre within the social care research group. You will report to the Operations Manager and contribute to administrative efficiency, IT excellence and effective collaboration with internal and external partners.

The role requires enthusiasm, professionalism and a flexible approach to handling a diverse workload, with strong communication across a wide range of stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Allocations Manager and triage researchers to appropriate Advisor
  • Identify improvements to the Database to enhance reporting
  • Collate and tabulate data from the Database for internal reporting and reporting to NIHR
  • Be the first point of contact for public involvement queries and expenses
  • Process paperwork relating to the Public Involvement group in line with procedures
  • Liaise with operations team to ensure processes are followed and cover is arranged
  • Ensure guidance is updated in line with database amendments and updated regularly

Role Description

The postholder will be situated within the growing social care research group in the School for Business & Society, which includes other large programmes of related work, such as the executive and administrative functions of the national NIHR School for Social Care Research.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Centre Co-Ordinator will support the day to day operations of the Specialist Centre. The ideal candidate will be someone who exhibits an enthusiastic, professional and thorough approach to their work. You must be able to demonstrate a high standard of administrative experience, possess excellent IT and strong interpersonal skills, enjoy working as a member of a team, be prepared to learn new skills and have a flexible approach to managing a diverse workload. You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both internal and external to the University.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Allocations Manager and triage researchers to appropriate Advisor, following up when required
  • Identify improvements to the Database to enhance reporting and make recommendations to the Centre Manager.
  • Collate and tabulate data from the Database and other sources for both internal reporting purposes and reporting to the funder, NIHR.
  • Be the first point of contact for public involvement in relation to queries and expenses
  • Process paperwork relating to the Public Involvement group in line with set procedures in a timely manner
  • Liaise with operations team to ensure all processes are adhered to and that cover is arranged when necessary
  • Ensure guidance is updated in line with database amendments and updated on a regular basis
