The CCTV Monitoring Operator is responsible for the continuous, real-time surveillance of the campus through the centralised CCTV control room. The role safeguards students, staff, and institutional property by observing live camera feeds, identifying unusual or unsafe activity, and escalating incidents promptly to the Security Officer and campus administration.
Monitor live CCTV feeds from all campus cameras continuously during the assigned shift, maintaining constant vigilance over hostels, academic blocks, laboratories, entry and exit gates, parking areas, and common spaces.
Identify and immediately report suspicious activity, unauthorised access, safety hazards, ragging, or any breach of institutional discipline to the Security Officer and the reporting authority.
Maintain an accurate shift-wise incident log recording the time, camera location, nature of the incident, persons involved, and the action taken.
Operate DVR and NVR systems to retrieve, review, export, and archive recorded footage on request from authorised officials only.
Conduct a daily health check of all cameras, recorders, monitors, storage, and network links; raise service tickets for offline cameras, poor image quality, or storage faults and follow up until resolved.
Verify that recording retention, backup, and storage capacity remain within the prescribed institutional policy at all times.
Coordinate with security guards, hostel wardens, transport staff, and the administrative office during emergencies, drills, examinations, and campus events.
Support internal enquiries and disciplinary proceedings by providing footage strictly through the approved authorisation process.
Ensure the control room remains secure, orderly, and accessible only to authorised personnel; hand over charge formally at the end of each shift.
Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all footage and observations, and comply with institutional privacy and data-handling norms.
Pass in 12th Standard (HSC); a Diploma or ITI in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Hardware is preferred.
0 to 3 years of experience in CCTV monitoring, control room operations, or campus or industrial security. Freshers with the right aptitude will be considered.

Basic computer proficiency, including email and spreadsheet-based log maintenance.
Sustained attention and alertness through long monitoring shifts, with sound observation and judgement.
Ability to communicate clearly in Tamil and English, both spoken and written.
High integrity and a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as per the campus roster.
Full-time, rotational shift duty covering round-the-clock campus surveillance. Shift allocation is governed by the campus security roster issued by the Main Office.
