Job summary

Quess is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer to perform 3D CAD modeling and design of aircraft interior components, and to develop MBD data with PMI, tolerances, and GD&T. The role includes updating 2D drawings, interpreting specifications, and coordinating with cross-functional teams in Chennai.

The candidate will work with CATIA V5, ENOVIA PLM, and Boeing/787 interior programs, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality requirements and timely releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Production, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of total engineering experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of Aerospace industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with CATIA V5.
  • Hands-on experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
  • Experience with ENOVIA PLM.
  • Good experience in 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation/modification.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance fundamentals.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to work from Chennai for the duration of the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 3D CAD modeling and design of aircraft interior/floor covering components.
  • Develop and maintain Model-Based Definition (MBD) data, including PMI, dimensions, tolerances, annotations, and GD&T.
  • Create, modify, and update 2D engineering drawings as required.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements.
  • Support design modifications and engineering changes for 787 floor covering/interior components.
  • Manage and update engineering data using ENOVIA PLM.
  • Perform required product/data releases and maintain engineering information in the PLM environment.
  • Coordinate with engineering, checking/QA, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable aerospace and customer quality requirements.
  • Complete assigned engineering deliverables within project timelines.
