Job summary

Randstad India is seeking a Category Manager – Biomedical Procurement to lead procurement for pharmaceuticals, clinical consumables, and implants in Mumbai (Lower Parel & Powai). The role reports to the Head – Procurement, Global Procurement Organization (India).

You will manage end-to-end procurement, including lifecycle management of biomedical equipment, capital sourcing, AMC/CMC contracts, and replacement planning to ensure uptime and compliance.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years experience in procurement, category management, or related fields.
• Experience managing biomedical/pharma procurement and equipment would be a plus.
• Strong data analysis and SAP reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement plans for biomedical and pharmaceutical categories.
• Source and manage vendors; ensure supply continuity across facilities.
• Oversee capital sourcing, installation, and maintenance contracts for biomedical equipment.
• Coordinate import processes: POs, shipment tracking, customs clearance, delivery to plants.
• Define category strategy and identify market opportunities for portfolio growth.

Position Summary

This position is in the Global Procurement organization, reporting to the Raw Materials Regional Sourcing Leader for India. The buyer is responsible for all procurement activities related to India Materials & Tolling/Custom Manufacturing agreements, supporting local and remotely located Category Leaders/Regional Sourcing Leaders with procurement plans, bidding, SAP reporting, data analysis, and management. The role owns end‑to‑end procurement and lifecycle management of biomedical equipment across all facilities, including capital sourcing, installation, maintenance contracts (AMC/CMC), and replacement planning to ensure equipment uptime for clinical care while maintaining full compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement plans, bidding, SAP reporting, and data analysis for biomedical and pharmaceutical categories.
• Source, manage vendors, and ensure supply continuity for pharmaceuticals, clinical consumables, and implants across all client facilities, ensuring uninterrupted availability while driving cost efficiency, quality compliance, and clinical alignment.
• Manage capital sourcing, installation, AMC/CMC maintenance contracts, and replacement planning for biomedical equipment.
• Request quotations, compare offers, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to meet cost and delivery requirements.
• Oversee end‑to‑end import processes: purchase order creation, shipment tracking, customs clearance, delivery to plant/warehouse, and coordination with freight forwarders, customs house agents (CHAs), and logistics partners.
• Verify import documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Define category strategy, identify market opportunities and emerging trends to support portfolio expansion and business growth.
