Job Description: Category Executive – Furniture

Role Overview
As a Category Executive for Furniture, you will be the linchpin for new product success. This role is perfect for a data-driven professional who enjoys the intersection of product strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and market analysis. You will take ownership of the product lifecycle from conception (briefing) to market execution (listing and training), ensuring our furniture range remains competitive and high-performing.
Key Responsibilities
- Competition Benchmarking: Maintain a robust database of competitor pricing, features, and assortment.
- Data Analysis: Regularly monitor market trends to ensure our product portfolio stays ahead of the curve.
2. New Product Development (NPD) & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Project Liaison: Act as the central point of contact between NPD, Supply Chain, Consumer Marketing, and Sales.
- Product Briefing: Create comprehensive technical and conceptual briefs for new product launches.
- Marketing Collaterals: Develop marketing briefs for content creation, including Point of Sale (POS) materials and visual merchandising.
3. Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution
- E-commerce Readiness: Create and manage product listing files (flat files) for the brand website and various marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.).
- Training & Development: Design and deliver training modules to help the sales team and retail partners understand new product USPs.
4. Operations & Performance Tracking
- Inventory Management: Lead inventory forecasting for all new launches to ensure optimum stock levels.
- Sales MIS: Maintain and analyze sales performance reports (MIS) specifically for new products to track ROI and market pick-up.
What We Are Looking For
- The Academic: An MBA graduate with a solid understanding of category dynamics.
- The Coordinator: Someone who can navigate different departments with ease and drive consensus.
- The Analyst: Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets for MIS reporting and inventory forecasting.
- The Communicator: Ability to write clear, concise briefs and training materials.
- Experience: 0–3 years in category management, retail, or a similar role (furniture industry experience is a plus but not mandatory).
