Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a Casting Simulations Mechanical Design Engineer to drive DS process modeling for directionally solidified turbine hardware. You will validate core breakage prediction, develop high-fidelity casting models, and embed manufacturability early in design.

Collaboration with design, materials and manufacturing teams to advance DF(M) workflows and reduce defects, lead times and costs across gas turbine components.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in mechanical design with 4 years in parametric CAD modeling (UG-NX, Pro-E, CREO) and tolerance stack-up (GD&T).
  • 5 years of experience in Gas turbine and internally cooled hot gas path blades and vanes.
  • Teamwork and networking in a global team setup; strong communication skills.

  • Develop and validate advanced DS process modeling methodologies with emphasis on core breakage prediction and mitigation.
  • Provide high-fidelity casting simulation modeling to support robust, high-yield designs.

Casting Simulations Mechanical Design will drive the next generation of advanced casting simulation and manufacturability optimization.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how we design and manufacture complex turbine hardware. You will lead the development and validation of cutting-edge DS (directionally solidified) process modeling, core breakage prediction, and foundry process modeling capabilities. Working at the intersection of design, simulation, and manufacturing, you will focus on upstream design simulation to embed manufacturability early in the development cycle, significantly reducing defects, lead times, and costs while improving component reliability.

How You'll Make an Impact (Gas Turbine, R& D, India)
  • Develop and validate advanced DS process modeling methodologies with a strong emphasis on core breakage prediction and mitigation.
  • Practice Siemens Energy high fidelity, extensively validated, and equiaxed casting simulation modeling methodology to provide expert foundry process modeling support to ensure robust, high-yield casting designs.
  • Drive upstream design simulation initiatives that integrate manufacturability directly into the turbine component design process.
  • Develop new cooling technologies within the constraints of manufacturability, balancing performance, thermal management, and casting feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to create and implement new simulation-driven design-for-manufacturing (DFM) workflows.
  • Identify and resolve critical casting challenges through innovative modeling techniques, data analysis, and real-world validation.
  • Contribute to methodology development that pushes the boundaries of casting simulation accuracy and speed.
  • Proficient parametric CAD modeling skills (NX, Pro-E, CREO)
  • Knowledge of internally cooled hot gas path hardware
  • Understanding of the manufacturing processes for hot gas path hardware with emphasis in investment castings.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, Materials or Aerospace Engineering
  • Working Experience: 8 years of experience in product design as Mechanical Designer with 4 year in parametric CAD modeling in UG-NX, Teamcenter , GD&T and tolerance stack up.
  • Product knowledge: 5 years of experience in Gas turbine and internally cooled hot gas path blades and vanes
  • Teamwork - Be comfortable working with colleagues in multiple time zones in a team
  • Networking skills - Ability to establish relationships and build networks in a global team setup
  • Communication: Very good verbal, written and virtual communication skills.
