Job summary

RWS in Bengaluru, India, invites a detail-oriented Cash Application & Collections Analyst to join Group Finance. You will apply customer payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve unapplied cash while communicating clearly with customers to recover overdue balances.

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience in cash application and collections.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Match incoming payments to the relevant remittance advice and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments are allocated accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and disputed invoices.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Contact customers via email to recover overdue payments and negotiate payment plans.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to support debt recovery while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate high-risk accounts and significantly overdue balances in accordance with procedures.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring cash application and collection records are accurate.
  • Prepare and provide regular reports on cash application performance, aged debt, and collection activities to management.

Job description

The Cash Application & Collections Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments, maintaining cash application records, and resolving payment allocation issues. The role also involves analysing customer accounts, collecting outstanding balances, and working with customers to resolve payment queries and overdue debt.

The position will initially report to the Cash Manager and will transition to reporting to the Collections Team Manager.

  • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments are allocated accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and disputed invoices.

Skills & Experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in cash application and collections.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive approach, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Great Plains is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another business-related discipline.
