Job summary

A leading communication technology company in India is seeking an experienced Carrier Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing VoIP technologies and interconnecting carriers to our Telephony Platform. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of technical experience with telecom carriers and a strong understanding of SIP signalling and networking protocols.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience working in a technical role with telecom carriers.
Advanced knowledge of VoIP with SIP signalling.
Experience optimizing cost and quality of solutions.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, design, and onboard carriers to the Zoom Telephony Platform.
Handle Tier 2 escalations for customer telephony issues.
Support monitoring and triage of the telephony infrastructure.

Skills

Experience with telecom carriers

What You Can Expect
As a Carrier Engineer at Zoom, you will maintain technical knowledge of both VoIP and Networking technologies. Have the ability to apply that knowledge in interconnecting a carrier to the Zoom Telephony Platform. Responsible for primary roles of evaluation, design, and onboarding of carriers and their Telephony services. The Carrier Engineer will also be responsible for Tier 2 escalations, including customer/end users telephony issues as well as monitoring, triage and support of the Zoom Telephony Infrastructure.

These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience working in a technical role with a telecom carrier or large enterprise operating and/or managing a sip based voice infrastructure/UCaaS environment.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Voice over IP using SIP signalling, including UDP, RTP, TLS, SRTP for delivery.
Advanced knowledge of LAN and WAN switching and routing protocols for the design and transport of Voice over IP services.
Knowledge of BGP routing protocol is a must.
Understanding and knowledge of international telephony regulations and proposal of solutions within these regulatory requirements.
Experience seeking out solutions for problems to optimize cost, performance and quality of existing solutions with ownership.
Experience working with vendors and external partners.
