Job description

As we head into our launch in early 2027, we're hiring a Care Coordinator to be the test taker's main point of contact throughout their process, from booking to follow through.

Dognosis is a deeptech company devoted to unleashing the superpowers of humanity's best friends. We build brain-computer interfaces, wearable sensors, robotic platforms and AI models to standardise, scale and augment canine olfaction. Our focus is a breath-based multi-cancer test that triages risk at population scale, so early cancer detection can reach everyone. Our mission is informed peace of mind for people and their companions, through interspecies technology that makes medicine truly proactive. We are based in Bengaluru, India, backed by Boost VC and 1517 Fund, selected for the Accel and Prosus Atoms X LeapTech cohort, and we work with healthcare and research institutions across India, the UK and the US.

We think from first principles, question the status quo, take responsibility, move fast and keep bureaucracy to a minimum. If you are new to startups, you may find the constant contact with reality, and the freedom to act on it, refreshing.

About the role

Bengaluru (On-site) | Competitive, based on experience + ESOPs

As we head into our launch in early 2027, we're hiring a Care Coordinator to be the test taker's main point of contact throughout their process, from booking to follow through.

You will guide families through the test journey, hold follow-up conversations, and where necessary, bring in the medical team when an interaction requires a clinician.

This role makes no clinical calls and prescribes nothing.

You will be the first line of interaction with our customers and set the tone for the high standard of care and service they can expect. You will be expected to be precise, caring, articulate, and de-escalate hard moments with genuine empathy.

We work with people getting a cancer screening test for themselves or someone they love, so empathy and kindness aren't mere buzzwords for us.

What You'll Do
  • Be the trusted point of care and coordination, throughout a patient's care journey; especially when they have no one else to turn to
  • Handle healthcare queries by phone and video: information about the test, handling anxieties and concerns around the test, operational queries around payments, timelines etc.
  • Ensure adherence to their care plan and monitor their progress, anticipating bottlenecks or barriers.
  • Check in proactively with customers during the test process; ensure continuity and comfort from start to finish
  • Explain test results in plain language and, without pushing, help customers see the value of regular testing.
  • Coordinate logistics and support transitions of care: appointments, medical tests, imaging, cashless navigation and TPA coordination, and referrals
  • Own patient education and advocate for patients at every turn, ensuring their needs and rights are respected
  • Escalate symptom-related, clinical, or medically sensitive questions to senior healthcare team members through defined paths.
Must-haves
  • Fluency in English, Hindi, and Kannada.
  • Ability to pass a case study handling an entire family unit, with several members, concerns, and decision-makers on the line.
  • Experience with TPA and cashless insurance navigation with hospitals.
  • Comfortable working with digital interfaces and dashboards; plus if you can help product teams improve these dashboards through valid feature recommendations
Nice-to-haves
  • AYUSH qualification (BAMS, BHMS, or similar) OR experience as a clinical research coordinator or in similar patient-facing roles.
  • Science background through 10th grade.
  • 4 or more languages.
  • Ability to travel locally at short notice
  • Comfortable with ambiguous problems that have no playbook.
How we evaluate this role
  • Logical Problem Solving
  • General coordination ability (cashless coordination, operational queries, others)
  • Taking down a patient history + immediate coordination plan (EHR style)
  • De-escalation skills (family case)
  • Social cues and patient interaction assessment
What You'll Get
  • Working and growing at a highly ambitious company that's solving a difficult and meaningful problem
  • ESOPs in a well-funded, pre-revenue company backed by Boost VC and 1517 Fund, and selected for the Accel and Prosus Atoms X LeapTech cohort.
  • A small, interdisciplinary team spanning engineers, scientists, and working detection dogs. The office is never boring.
  • Competitive salary, health insurance, and flexible time-off.
  • Up to ₹10,000 a year towards a gym, a sport or any regular fitness activity.
