Cummins Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to drive campus recruitment across colleges and universities in Maharashtra, India.

You will plan hiring activities, coordinate campus drives, and manage end-to-end selection processes while ensuring compliance and collaboration with business leaders. Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Recruits, screens and interviews internal and external applicants to fill current or expected job vacancies in alignment with the organization’s recruiting strategies and legislative requirements. Reviews and evaluates applicant's background information in comparison to the job vacancy and facilitates the applicable reference checks, background checks and applicant testing processes. Communicates with candidates regarding their application status; may extend job offers and prepares the appropriate job offer paperwork processes. Informs candidates of jobs duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits programs, work schedule and conditions, and career advancement opportunities. Ensures the organization's recruiting processes are carried out in accordance with applicable internal policies, procedures and government legislation. Communicates with external recruitment contacts to provide information regarding career opportunities. May travel to recruiting events. Arranges interviews and travel logistics for selected applicants; partners with line human resources to ensure interview and selection process progress smoothly. Collaborates with hiring managers and other key stakeholders in the recruiting process. Utilizes and maintains applicant tracking system including periodic reporting to stakeholders.

  • External Talent Sourcing - Identifies and applies appropriate candidate sourcing methodologies and tools to identify, attract and engage a diverse pool of talent in the external market.
  • Human Resources Business Process Execution - Manages the execution of Human Resources business processes, seeking efficiency, accuracy, positive business performance outcomes and operational agility; integrates activities across processes as needed; assures compliance with process and legal requirements; effectively balances process requirements and business leader needs.
  • Human Resources Consulting - Collaborates with partners to observe the environment and apply sound judgment informed by knowledge, skills, and experiences to diagnose, identify and optimize opportunities to provide holistic solutions, while balancing the needs of stakeholders, primarily employees, with those of the organization.
  • Data Analytics - Discovers, interprets and communicates qualitative and quantitative data; determines conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks; simultaneously applies statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights; presents conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.

Experience

Minimal level of relevant work experience required.

This person is responsible for finding and hiring young talent from colleges and universities for the organization.

On a Typical Day, They
  • Connect with colleges, placement teams, faculty members, and student coordinators to plan hiring activities.
  • Build relationships with MBA, engineering, and diploma institutes to strengthen the company's presence on campus.
  • Coordinate campus drives, pre-placement talks, assessments, interviews, and hiring events.
  • Work closely with business leaders to understand hiring needs and identify the right campuses to target.
  • Screen student profiles, review resumes, and help shortlist candidates for interviews.
  • Engage with students to explain career opportunities, answer questions, and maintain their interest throughout the hiring process.
  • Manage communication between candidates, hiring managers, and colleges to ensure a smooth recruitment experience.
  • Track hiring data, prepare reports, and monitor metrics such as applications received, selection ratios, and offer acceptances.
  • Support employer branding initiatives by organizing campus engagement programs, competitions, webinars, and networking events.
  • Ensure selected candidates complete documentation and stay engaged until they join the organization.
