Job summary

Sanderson Recruitment is seeking a QA Lead to drive functional and regression testing for Calypso releases in a mature testing environment. You will guide the QA team, coordinate with business stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.

The role requires hands-on SQL and data testing, strong analytical skills, and experience with fixed income or equity derivatives. You will partner with development and PM teams to align testing with business needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in SQL queries and data testing.
• 5 to 10 years of comprehensive experience in software testing, including a minimum of 2 years in a test lead capacity.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fixed Income or Equity Derivative products, complemented by an understanding of the trade life cycle for these instruments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of testing methodologies and tools, with hands-on expertise in testing practices.
• Working knowledge of QA best practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to functional testing of Calypso releases and ensure regression test cases are kept updated regularly.
• Perform functional tests of Calypso for patches and new functions and document test cases
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders regarding team progress, ensuring transparency and alignment with project timelines.
• Provide leadership and direction to the QA team, mentoring and guiding QA members to grow their skills.
• Manage all team activities by assessing and allocating tasks to ensure timely feature testing.
• Understand business requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and propose test plans and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, PMs and other stakeholders to align test strategy with specifications.
• Work with the development lead on release planning including release documentation and change management processes.
• Assist to investigate and resolve issues escalated by production support related to Calypso configuration or functions.

Role & responsibilities

• Effectively manage all team activities by assessing and allocating tasks among team members, ensuring the timely completion of feature testing to deliver high-quality software.
• Understand the business requirement by collaborating closely with business stakeholders and suggest test plan and delivery time lines.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, business analysts, Project Managers and other business stakeholders to ensure that the test strategy and coverage aligns with the functional specifications.
• Work closely with the development lead in release planning and preparation including release documentation, change request creation and all other change management processes.
• Provide assistance to investigate and resolve issues escalated by the production support team related to Calypso configuration or functions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Understanding of front-to-back office business processes
• hands-on experience in SQL queries and proficiency in data testing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 5 to 10 years of comprehensive experience in software testing, including a minimum of 2 years in a test lead capacity.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fixed Income or Equity Derivative products, complemented by a thorough understanding of the trade life cycle for these instruments.
