Job summary

Synechron in Pune (Hinjewadi) / Bangalore (BCIT) / Chennai seeks a Calypso Java Developer with 5+ years IT experience. You will develop features for bank desks using Java and Calypso APIs, and support back-office Calypso apps for commodity trading operations.

Responsibilities include planning, estimation, testing, and L2 support, plus collaboration with operations to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and to optimize trade processing, settlement and reconciliation workflows.

Qualifications

Role & responsibilities

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Calypso Java Developer with total IT experience of 5+ years. The ideal candidate will possess strong development and troubleshooting skills as well as knowledge of Calypso. (Any 1 asset class group e.g. Fixed Income, FX, Commodities etc)

Work location Pune (Hinjewadi), Bangalore (BCIT office), Chennai. Shift Timings: 12 9PM

Key Responsibilities

• Developing new features and enhancements for various Desks/Operations users in Bank related to Calypso using Java and Calypso APIs.
• Participate in planning sessions, estimate work, test, provide L2 support.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain back-office applications on the Calypso platform to support commodity trading operation
• Collaborate with operations and trade support teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that optimize trade processing and settlement
• Implement and maintain workflows for trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes

Skills / Experience Required

• Demonstrable experience (at least 5 years) with Java development, particularly along with Calypso APIs.
• Proven expertise with Calypso v16 or above , specifically related to commodity asset class.
• Strong understanding of trading processes, including trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Experience with confirmations and payment notice processing in calypso
• Calypso Customizations such as Scheduled Tasks, Reports, Engines.
• Good understanding of Calypso's message and sender frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Tech: AWS, Kubernetes, Grafana, Maven, Jenkins, Cloudbees
• Business: Understanding of Derivative products.
