Job summary

SEGULA Technologies seeks a CAE Chassis Durability Engineer in Chennai to drive durability assessment and optimization of automotive chassis and suspension parts through FE analysis.

You will build FE models with ANSA, run Abaqus simulations, and correlate results with physical tests to improve prediction accuracy and meet OEM durability standards. 2–5 years’ experience in CAE is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in CAE roles with emphasis on chassis durability.
• Proficient with ANSA and Abaqus for FEA-based durability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare FE models of chassis and suspension using ANSA.
• Run static, linear, nonlinear, and fatigue durability simulations in Abaqus.
• Define materials, contacts, loads, and boundary conditions for durability analyses.
• Evaluate frame, subframes, control arms, knuckles, and suspension components for strength and durability.
• Analyze results: stress, strain, displacement, fatigue life; identify failure locations.
• Correlate CAE results with test data and suggest model improvements.
• Optimize designs for durability, weight, cost, and performance targets.
• Address FE mesh quality and solver convergence issues to improve efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with design, testing, manufacturing, and product development to meet OEM durability standards.

CAE Chassis Durability Engineer – job description. We are seeking a skilled CAE Chassis Durability Engineer with experience in ANSA and Abaqus to support the structural durability assessment and optimization of automotive chassis and suspension components through finite element analysis (FEA).

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare high-quality finite element (FE) models of chassis and suspension components using ANSA.
• Perform static, linear, nonlinear, and fatigue durability simulations using Abaqus.
• Define material properties, contacts, connectors, loads, and boundary conditions for durability and structural analyses.
• Evaluate chassis components such as frame, cross members, subframe, control arms, knuckles, brackets, and suspension systems for strength and durability.
• Analyze simulation results including stress, strain, displacement, deformation, reaction forces, and fatigue life to identify potential failure locations.
• Correlate CAE simulation results with physical durability test data and recommend model improvements to enhance prediction accuracy.
• Optimize chassis designs to achieve durability, weight reduction, cost efficiency, and performance targets.
• Investigate and resolve FE model quality issues, mesh-related problems, and solver convergence challenges to improve analysis efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, document simulation findings, and present recommendations to design and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Collaborate with design, testing, manufacturing, and product development teams to ensure chassis components meet OEM durability standards, quality requirements, and CAE best practices.
