Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a CAD Methodology and Automation Engineer with 8+ years in hardware CAD/EDA. You will collaborate with RTL, design, DV, software and silicon verification teams to build automation and flows for CPU design and verification.

You will define new infrastructure, drive tool methodologies, and work with vendors to improve productivity and time to market. Strong Python, Linux, and CI/CD skills required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong object-oriented programming abilities in Python; Linux knowledge and data-management software experience.
• Experience with Digital flows/methodologies in DV domains: Simulation, Emulation and Formal verification.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and version control systems (Airflow, Jenkins, Perforce, Git).
• Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 6+ years hardware CAD/EDA experience; proven vendor interaction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RTL, architecture, design, DV, software, and silicon verification users.
• Generate ideas, prove concepts, and implement flows/methodologies for CPU designs.
• Define and deploy new infrastructure to accelerate design across multi-site datacenters.
• Drive consensus on tools and design methodologies across business units.
• Document methodologies and provide training to design teams.
• Interface with cross-functional teams and vendors to adopt latest design solutions.

General Summary:

Responsibilities

• As a CAD Methodology and Automation Engineer, you will work with RTL, architecture, design, DV, software, and silicon verification users. with atleast 8+ years experience.
• Focus on generating new ideas, proving those, putting together flows/methodologies around those, and incorporating those in implementation flow for CPU designs.
• Collaborate with chip leads to determine new areas in Front-End/Design Verification to support current or future designs that can benefit from automation and tooling
• Define and implement new infrastructure capabilities that can be used to accelerate design and development utilizing multi-site datacenters
• Drive consensus across business units on tool & design methodology
• Work closely with design teams to define methodologies, drive flow development, and deploy vendor tools
• Interfaces with various cross functional teams and external vendors to define, drive and incorporate the latest design solutions to improve productivity and time to market.
• Support design engineers on the flow setup and resolve their queries

Qualifications

• Must have strong object-oriented programming abilities in Python; Must have Linux knowledge and experience with data-management software
• Must have worked on Digital flows/methodologies development in the DV domains like Simulation, Emulation and Formal verification.
• Experience with CI/CD platform (like Airflow and Jenkins) and Version Control System (like Perforce and/or Git).
• MS/BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 10+ years of demonstrated experience in CAD or EDA tools flows architecture, development, and support.
• Demonstrated experience with various EDA software, flows, and architectures & driving EDA vendors to provide feature enhancements and bugfixes.
• Ability to document design methodologies & provide training on tools and workflows to design teams
• Strong skills in debugging and analyzing techniques to understand existing scripts/flows; Ability to work independently and explore new domains
• Proven track record of pushing Prior experience debugging vendor tool problems
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills and track record of success in a collaborative team environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• OR
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• OR
• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
