Job summary

FLIEGL INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking an engineering designer to develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and working drawings for trailer frames, construction frames, and sub-assemblies. You will translate concepts into fabrication-ready drawings and prepare BOMs, cut schedules, and revision histories.

You will coordinate with production, ensure compliance with IS codes and German engineering standards, and support assembly with technical clarifications.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D modelling software (SolidWorks/CATIA).
• Knowledge of structural steel sections, welding symbols and GD&T.
• Ability to read/interpret German or European drawings is a plus.
• Experience in trailer chassis or heavy equipment design preferred.
• Freshers with SolidWorks project work may be considered.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and working drawings for trailer frames, construction frames, and structural sub-assemblies
• Translate design concepts and customer requirements into engineering drawings ready for fabrication
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), part lists, and cutting schedules from approved designs
• Coordinate with the production/fabrication team to clarify drawing details, tolerances, and material specifications
• Modify and revise drawings based on customer feedback, shop floor inputs, or design change requests
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (IS codes, load requirements, safety norms) and Fliegl's German engineering standards
• Maintain drawing registers, revision history, and document control in the engineering database
• Support production with technical clarifications during assembly and fabrication stages

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) mandatory; fabrication drawings, general arrangement, details
• SolidWorks or CATIA (3D modelling) highly preferred for frame and structural modelling
• Knowledge of structural steel sections, fabrication methods, welding symbols, and GD&T
• Understanding of trailer chassis design principles: load distribution, stress points, crossmembers
• Ability to read and interpret German or European engineering drawings is an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or structural simulation tools desirable
• Experience in automobile/commercial vehicle design, trailer manufacturing, heavy equipment OEM, or structural engineering consultancies
• Target companies: BHEL, L&T Construction Equipment, Ashok Leyland Engineering, VE Commercial Vehicles, trailer body builders
• Freshers from JNTU/Osmania with strong SolidWorks project work may be considered
