Job summary

Tata Technologies in Bangalore is seeking a CAD Engineer with piston design experience and strong Creo skills to design, develop, and optimize piston components for automotive powertrains.

You'll produce 3D models and 2D drawings, perform tolerances and GD&T, and collaborate with CAE, manufacturing, QA, and suppliers.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree and knowledge of manufacturing processes; exposure to DFMEA and APQP is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in piston design and engine components.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and drafting.
• Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, forging).
• Exposure to DFMEA, APQP and quality standards.
• Knowledge of PLM tools such as Windchill is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings of piston components using PTC Creo.
• Design and develop pistons, piston rings, and related engine components as per customer and project requirements.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T implementation.
• Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, quality, and testing teams during product development.
• Support new product development and engineering change management activities.
• Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Participate in DFMEA, design reviews, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and engineering change requests.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams for prototype and production support.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer with experience in Piston Design and strong proficiency in PTC Creo. The ideal candidate should have a background in the Automotive Industry, preferably in powertrain or engine components, and be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing piston components while ensuring compliance with quality, performance, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in automotive powertrain, engine, or piston manufacturing industry.
• Exposure to PLM tools such as Windchill will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
