Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking Electrical Engineers with infrastructure utility design expertise, including EHV/MV/LV and dry utility networks. Ideal candidates have mid- to senior-level experience in masterplanning and infrastructure design, with strong documentation skills and client coordination capabilities.

Applicants should have 5+ years in relevant projects, familiarity with IET standards, and the drive to advance toward Chartered Engineer accreditation while working across multi-location teams

Qualifications

• Graduate/post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with around 5+ years of relevant experience in dry utility design.
• 5+ years of infrastructure project experience including masterplanning and infrastructure design.
• Ability to produce design documentation such as Design Basis Reports and Project Design Specifications.
• Member of IET and working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Calculate power demand per industrial benchmarking.
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for MV/LV networks.
• Design and review MV/LV network layouts and cable routing.
• Size transformers, cables, breakers, and capacitors for MV/LV systems.
• Coordinate utility corridors and clash detection with other utilities.
• Develop design reports for power, street lighting and telecom networks.
• Provide design specifications for power, telecom, and street lighting.

Overview

We are looking for Electrical Engineers with Infrastructure Utility design (EHV/MV/LV) to undertake engineering design and lead roles. The candidate shall have Middle East project experience for Masterplan and Infrastructure design works. The candidate shall have experience in Dry utilities network design such as HV, MV, LV, Street lighting and Telecom. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified person with an engineering consultancy or energy sector background to gain further experience within an internationally renowned consultancy.

Your role

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following

• Calculation of Power demand as per industrial bench marking
• Preparation of Single line Diagrams (SLD)
• Design and Review Layout drawings for MV Network, LV Network
• Transformer sizing, cable sizing, breaker sizing, capacitor bank sizing for MV and LV system
• MV and LV network design and cable routing, shall be having very good knowledge of Cable trench, duct bank and manhole design.
• Primary Substation and Secondary Substation location identification.
• Street lighting calculation, Street lighting network design, street lighting feeder pillar location identification and preparation LV cable schedule.
• Telecom(Fixed and GSM) Network design and cable routing with identification of Junction box, telecom exchange room and meet me room location.
• Design report for Power, Street lighting and Telecom network.
• Specification of Power, Telecom and street lighting
• Clash detection and co-ordination with other Utilities
• Experience in preparation of Basis of design, design report for the projects.
• Knowledge of Relevant Electrical Codes and Standards.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations, voltage drop and cable sizing.
• Standard drawing for dry utilities network
• Experience in Utility Corridor design.
• Project Management, Resource Management, Design Co-ordination experience.
• Client and Authority co-ordination experience.

About you

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate/post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with around 5+ years of relevant experience in Dry utility design and engineering.
• The Candidate shall have 5+ year of experience in the infrastructure projects for masterplan design and Infrastructure design.
• Ability to produce design documentation – Design Basis Report, Case Studies and Project Design Specification.
• Member of IET & working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation.

• Strong English Communication Skills needed to co-ordinate with client and other internal stake holders.
• Be a part of the team which is working at different geographical locations and co-ordinate for the needs of the project.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.
• Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
• To provide support and advice to members the team, this may also include line management responsibilities.
