VSS & Co., Chartered Accountants, a Chennai-based firm in Kilpauk, seeks a CA Inter candidate for Executive Transaction Advisory & Audit. Work spans deal due diligence, financial analysis, and statutory audits across Ind AS/AS. Articleship completion preferred; final-year candidates may apply.

Location: Chennai; full-time with stipend and growth opportunities. Role offers exposure to live M&A, mentoring from CA professionals, and flexibility around CA Final exam preparation; travel to client

Qualifications

• Cleared CA Intermediate (both groups preferred).
• Completed articleship preferred. Candidates in the final phase of articleship may also apply.
• B.Com / BBA / M.Com graduates preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence: analysing historical financials, QoE, normalisation adjustments, net working capital and net debt.
• Build and maintain Excel data books, trend analyses and reconciliations from management accounts, trial balances and MIS.
• Review data room documents and draft information request lists. Track open queries with client management.
• Help draft due diligence reports, information memoranda and pitch materials in PowerPoint.
• Support valuation work (DCF, comparable company and transaction multiples) and basic financial modelling.
• Assist with business plan reviews, cash flow projections and deal structuring inputs.
• Carry out statutory audits under the Companies Act, 2013 in line with SAs, including planning, risk assessment, vouching and substantive testing.
• Review financial statements prepared under Ind AS / AS, including disclosures and Schedule III compliance.
• Assist with CARO 2020 reporting, tax audits and internal financial controls testing.
• Conduct internal audits and process reviews. Identify control gaps and draft observations.

Job Description: Executive Transaction Advisory & Audit (CA Inter)

Location: Chennai | Employment type: Full-time | Experience: 03 years (post-articleship preferred)
Reports to: Manager / Partner Transaction Advisory & Assurance

About Us

VSS & Co., Chartered Accountants, is a Chennai-based firm located in Kilpauk. We provide transaction advisory, statutory audit, internal audit and related assurance services to Corporate clients, Family businesses, Startups and Investors for various sectors. We are looking for driven CA Inter candidates who want hands-on exposure to both deal work and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Advisory

• Support buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence: analysing historical financials, Quality of Earnings (QoE), normalisation adjustments, net working capital and net debt.
• Build and maintain Excel data books, trend analyses and reconciliations from management accounts, trial balances and MIS.
• Review data room documents and draft information request lists. Track open queries with client management.
• Help draft due diligence reports, information memoranda and pitch materials in PowerPoint.
• Support valuation work (DCF, comparable company and transaction multiples) and basic financial modelling.
• Assist with business plan reviews, cash flow projections and deal structuring inputs.

Audit & Assurance

• Carry out statutory audits under the Companies Act, 2013 in line with Standards on Auditing (SAs), including planning, risk assessment, vouching, verification and substantive testing.
• Review financial statements prepared under Ind AS / AS, including disclosures and Schedule III compliance.
• Assist with CARO 2020 reporting, tax audits (Form 3CA/3CB-3CD) and internal financial controls (IFC) testing.
• Conduct internal audits and process reviews. Identify control gaps and draft observations.
• Perform GST, TDS and ledger reconciliations, and prepare working papers to firm documentation standards.
• Coordinate with client finance teams and present findings to seniors.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Cleared CA Intermediate (both groups preferred) from ICAI.
• Completed articleship preferred. Candidates in the final phase of articleship may also apply.
• B.Com / BBA / M.Com graduates preferred.
• Prior exposure to statutory audit, internal audit or due diligence assignments is an advantage.

Skills Required

• Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, Accounting Standards, SAs and the Companies Act.
• Advanced Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH and financial modelling basics.
• Working knowledge of PowerPoint and accounting/ERP software (Tally, SAP, Zoho or similar).
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Clear written and verbal communication for client interaction and report drafting.
• Willingness to travel to client locations and to work to deal timelines.
