Job summary

Mark & Save Head Office in Kerala seeks a CA Intern / Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting and General Ledger across regions. You will oversee month-end closings, reconciliations and Trial Balance preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience in General Ledger, month-end closing and reconciliations
• ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage and review the General Ledger across regions/entities for accuracy
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual book closings within timelines
• Post accruals, provisions, prepayments, depreciation and closing adjustments
• Prepare/review Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolve abnormal balances
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts including ageing and outstanding items
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register including capitalization and depreciation
• Review intercompany balances and coordinate regional resolutions
• Review clearing and suspense GL accounts for timely clearance
• Prepare Trial Balance and ensure readiness for financial statements
• Support audits, financial reporting and management reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls

Position: CA Intern / Senior Accountant

Location: Kerala

Company: Mark & Save Head OfficeRole Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end accounting and General Ledger management across all regions, ensuring accurate books of accounts, timely month-end closure, reconciliations, and preparation of the Trial Balance for Balance Sheet and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review the General Ledger across all regions/entities and ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records.
• Coordinate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual book closing within agreed timelines.
• Review and post necessary accruals, provisions, prepayments, depreciation and closing adjustments.
• Prepare/review Balance Sheet reconciliations, investigate abnormal or long-outstanding balances and ensure timely resolution.
• Manage and reconcile vendor and customer accounts, including ageing, advances, debit/credit balances and outstanding items.
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals and CWIP.
• Review and reconcile intercompany/inter-region balances and coordinate resolution of differences with regional teams.
• Review clearing, suspense and other GL accounts and ensure timely clearance.
• Prepare and review the Trial Balance, ensuring books are fully reconciled and ready for financial statement preparation.
• Maintain proper accounting schedules, supporting documentation and audit trails.
• Support internal/statutory audits, financial reporting and management reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls and support process improvements across regions.

Qualification & Experience

• CA Intermediate with 4+ years of relevant accounting experience; OR
• B.Com / M.Com with 7+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong experience in General Ledger, month-end closing, Balance Sheet reconciliations, AP, AR and Fixed Assets.
• Experience in a multi-company/multi-region environment preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred.
• Should be hands‑on, detail-oriented and capable of independently taking ownership of the books through final Trial Balance.
