Bhuta Shah & Co LLP | Chartered Accountants in Mumbai/Nariman Point seeks a Semi-Qualified Accountant with 8+ years of experience to manage end-to-end accounting operations and statutory compliance. Proficiency in Tally ERP/Prime, GST, TDS, and financial reporting is essential.

You will support audits, MIS reporting, and client accounting assignments, coordinating with teams and clients to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely closes.

Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com with CA Inter or CMA Inter preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience (semi-qualified).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation.
• Hands-on experience with Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
• GST return filing, TDS compliance, and reconciliations experience.
• General ledger accounting and month-end closing expertise.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis).
• Experience in audit support and statutory compliances.

Responsibilities

• Pass daily accounting entries in Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
• Maintain books of accounts, ledgers, and supporting documents.
• Handle purchase, sales, expense, and general accounting entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Manage AR and AP.
• Handle GST, TDS, PF, PT, ESIC, and Income Tax compliances.
• Prepare GST and TDS workings and assist in returns.
• Assist in finalization of accounts and financial statements.
• Support internal, statutory, tax, and other audits.
• Prepare MIS reports and support monthly and annual closings.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws.
• Coordinate with teams and clients for accurate reporting.
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff.
• Independently manage client accounting assignments.

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Semi-Qualified Accountant to join our team at Nariman Point, Mumbai. The role involves managing end-to-end accounting operations, statutory compliances, audit support, financial reporting, and client accounting assignments.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Tally, GST, TDS, general accounting, reconciliations, and statutory compliances, preferably within a CA firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Pass daily accounting entries in Tally ERP / Tally Prime
• Maintain books of accounts, ledgers, and supporting documents
• Handle purchase, sales, expense, and general accounting entries
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Handle statutory compliances including GST, TDS, PF, PT, ESIC, and Income Tax
• Prepare GST and TDS workings and support timely return filing
• Assist in finalization of accounts and preparation of financial statements
• Provide support for internal, statutory, tax, and other audits
• Prepare MIS reports and support monthly and annual closing activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax laws
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients for accurate financial reporting
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff

Requirements

• B.Com / M.Com; CA Inter or CMA Inter preferred
• Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation
• Hands-on experience with Tally ERP / Tally Prime
• Strong experience in GST return filing, TDS compliance, and reconciliations
• Good knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end closing
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis
• Experience in audit support and statutory compliances
