DMart Thane Head Office seeks an experienced Buying & Sourcing professional for the Apparels category. You will identify trends, source products, onboard vendors and manage inventory to drive sales and profitability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including replenishment, design and supply chain; travel to stores and vendor locations to ensure category strategies are executed effectively.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in fashion, retail management, marketing or related field.
• 3–7 years of proven experience in retail or wholesale buying, particularly within apparel.
• Experience in vendor onboarding, negotiation and product selection is preferred.

&Role Description

A Buying & Sourcing for Apparels category at DMart is responsible for selecting, sourcing & managing the product selection within a specific category in an apparel retail environment. This includes identifying trends, negotiating with vendors, managing inventory & driving sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Management: The role holder will be responsible for sourcing & onboarding new vendors, managing relationship with existing vendors & negotiating price & terms
• Product Selection & Sourcing: Identifying new products, trends & potential vendors within the apparels category
• Buying & Ordering: Placing purchase orders, managing inventory levels, & ensuring timely delivery of goods
• Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, optimizing inventory & turnover minimizing slow-moving or obsolete items.
• Market Analysis: Conducting market research, competitor analysis, & staying updated on industry trends
• Sales & Profitability: Analyzing sales data, identifying opportunities for growth & developing strategies to maximize sales & profit margins.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with other teams such as integration & replenishment, design, visual merchandising, quality, supply chain to ensure the successful execution of category strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in fashion, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is generally preferred.

Experience: 3-7 years of proven experience in retail or wholesale buying, particularly within the apparel sector i.e Men, Women, Kids, accessories, ethnic category are preferred

Core Skills

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and data analysis abilities (including proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel and SAP).
• Understanding of inventory management, supply chain processes, and vendor relationships. Involves travel to stores and vendor locations
