Job summary

PERSOL is seeking an experienced Buyer Supply Chain Operations in Pune to manage supplier coordination, procurement activities, and overall supply chain operations. The role requires hands-on experience with forging and casting components, strong MIS/reporting skills, and frequent supplier visits.

You will coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Planning to ensure on-time material availability, monitor POs, and drive improvements in cost, delivery, and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• 47 years of relevant experience in Buying, Procurement, Supplier Management, or Supply Chain Operations.
• Hands-on exposure to Forging & Casting components/processes.
• Strong MIS, Excel, reporting, and data analysis skills.
• Strong supplier coordination and negotiation skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to supplier locations.
• Experience in automotive/manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day buying and supply chain activities for assigned suppliers/components.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability and delivery of materials.
• Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and supplier commitments.
• Conduct frequent supplier visits for follow-up, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
• Work closely with suppliers to address quality, delivery, capacity, and production-related issues.
• Track supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed timelines.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports, dashboards, and management reports related to procurement and supply chain performance.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Planning.
• Support cost, delivery, inventory, and supplier-performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate procurement and supplier-related documentation.

• Strong supplier coordination and negotiation skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to supplier locations.
• Good communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and priorities independently.
• Experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment will be an advantage.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or a related field.
• Relevant industry experience will be considered.
