Husky Technologies is seeking a Buyer for the Chennai, India location. The role focuses on managing supplier demand, maintaining ERP data, and driving continuous improvement across purchasing processes.

Ideal candidates have experience in industrial purchasing, a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components, and strong English communication skills. The position offers a full-time role with opportunities for growth within a dynamic team.

Competenze

• Several years of purchasing experience in a similar position in an industrial, fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components is an asset.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics preferred.
• Knowledge of business processes and supplier agreements/IP.
• Proficient in ERP (BaaN) and MS Office with data analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving attitude and effective time management.
• Fluent in English.

Mansioni

• Communicate daily demand to suppliers using Material Requirements Planning.
• Ensure supplier delivery dates are provided and maintained in the ERP system (BaaN).
• Ensure supplier delivery commitments are met and coordinated.
• Prepare documentation and coordinate return of goods as required.
• Address operations emergencies and expedite urgent requirements with suppliers.
• Report supplier issues to Sourcing Manager and Manufacturing Manager as needed.
• Manage exception messages to enable PO automation.
• May participate in presentations to suppliers and/or negotiate terms.
• Oversee engineering changes via daily reviews of ECOs.
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Communicate daily demand to suppliers using Material Requirement Planning
• Ensure supplier delivery dates are provided and maintained in our ERP System (BaaN)
• Ensure supplier delivery commitments are met
• Prepare documentation and coordinate return of goods as required
• Address operations emergencies and work with suppliers to expedite urgent requirements
• Communicate supplier issues to respective Sourcing Manager and Manufacturing Manager if applicable
• Manage exception messages to assist in purchase order automation
• May participate and/or conduct presentation to suppliers; and/or negotiate with suppliers
• Manage engineering changes through daily reviews of engineering change orders
• Participate in and/or may lead continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education preferred
• Several years of purchasing experience in a similar position gained in an industrial, fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components is an asset
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics preferred
• Knowledge of business processes
• General knowledge regarding supplier agreements and intellectual property
• Proficient in computer applications (ERP, MS Office) and able to conduct data analysis
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong problem solving attitudeEffective time management
• Good analyzing and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English
