Position Overview
Business Systems Administrator (NetSuite) operates as a system administrator within the Business Applications team, working primarily with Business Applications administrators and managers to administer, maintain, and enhance the NetSuite platform based on approved business needs while ensuring reliable system configuration, accurate data, and controlled changes.
Primary Responsibilities
- System Administration & Configuration Support: manage configuration, workflows, day‑to‑day administration, system updates/releases, rollouts, validation, monitor storage, archive data, create and maintain standard reports, and provide ad hoc reporting.
- Introductory scripting and development under direction; maintain test cases for enhancements & fixes, support deployments, change control and release management.
- Internal Team Partnership: collaborate with Business Applications administrators, participate in working sessions, support requirement clarification, dependency analysis, adoption activities, and communication of change initiatives.
- Change Execution & Documentation: reference, update, and maintain documentation for support, enhancements, and operational procedures using approved templates.
- Support & Issue Resolution: troubleshoot system, configuration, access, and data issues, identify repeat problems, and escalates as needed.
- Integrations & System Awareness: maintain knowledge of existing NetSuite integrations, assess downstream impact, support testing and validation of integration updates.
- Access & Governance: assist with user access reviews and audits, remediate access issues, maintain user and role changes, and install & validate managed packages.
Key Skills
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Deep understanding of the organization’s business and the business tool ecosystem.
- Knowledge of iPaaS solutions (Jitterbit, Boomi, etc.) and related internal applications.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Collaborative and consultative communication with non‑technical end users.
- Ability to elicit user requirements and develop process and technical solutions.
Key Competencies
- Working knowledge of SOX compliance and tracking.
- Experience managing individual work within the Jira Sprint/Release process.
- Basic familiarity (preferably in a development environment) with JavaScript/SuiteScript, SQL, and HTML.
- Exposure to REST/SOAP, APIs, XML/JSON, and SSO/TBA.
- Optional finance/accounting exposure or background.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of NetSuite administration experience.
- Base NetSuite Admin certification (Suite Foundation, Administration) preferred.
- Optional additional NetSuite certifications (ERP Consultant, Financial User, Suite Analytics, Application Developer).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Willingness to continue learning through experience, study, and certification.
Environment & Physical Demands
Work is primarily sedentary; requires sitting/standing in an office environment, using a keyboard, vocal communication, screen interaction, and occasionally moving or lifting up to 25lb. Occasional travel may be required.
