Job summary

Lam Research in Bengaluru seeks a Business Operations Analyst to lead data governance and master data management initiatives across Material & Vendor datasets. You will collect and analyze data, develop metrics, and drive data quality improvements with cross-functional teams.

You will use SAP ECC/S/4HANA knowledge, manage master data, perform data profiling and visualization, and support migration from existing sources to a governance tool.

The group you’ll be a part of

The Lam Global Supply Chain Operations team plays a critical role in enabling efficient, scalable, and compliant end-to-end supply chain processes across the organization. The team is responsible for managing supplier onboarding, master data governance, procurement support, and ensuring seamless integration across systems such as SAP and digital platforms. By driving data quality, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives, the team supports operational excellence, risk mitigation, and successful execution of global supply chain strategies. The team continuously develops the required technical skills and business acumen to help solve complex business problems and use cases in the semiconductor, manufacturing, and supply chain domains for the company.

Join Lam as a Business Operations Analyst, where you'll spearhead process improvement initiatives. With your systems knowledge and business process acumen, you will collect and analyze data, evaluate processes, develop metrics, and identify root causes with data-driven indicators for future improvements. You will organize cross‑functional project teams, communicate team progress, and survey best practices, showcasing your commitment to operational excellence at Lam.

Hands‑on experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA systems, strong proficiency in Material and Vendor Master Data management, and expertise in data analysis, data profiling, and data visualization to drive data quality and business insights is essential. Exposure to digital transformation initiatives is considered an added advantage.

What You’ll Do

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in master data management activities for Material & Vendor Master Data.
• Strong understanding of data governance rules and exposure to data analytics.
• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent, secure, and accurate use of data across the organization.
• Conduct regular data audits and assessments to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and risks, and develop remediation plans.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data governance best practices, processes, and tools, promoting a culture of data‑driven decision‑making.
• Monitor industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to data governance, ensuring the framework remains up‑to‑date and compliant.
• Handle escalated customer issues effectively, resolving problems swiftly while preserving positive relationships.
• Improve service quality, addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support migration from existing data sources (SharePoint, Excel, etc.) to a data governance tool.
• Implement a workflow management system to optimize, improve, and automate data governance workflows for data stewards.
• Track, investigate, and correct data quality issues in a data governance tool and set up data quality rules for validation and standardization.
• Co‑work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure seamless service delivery across all touchpoints.
• Establish a culture of continuous improvement and share ideas for process enhancements.
• Perform de‑duplication, cleansing, harmonization, and standardization of data periodically.
• Create, manage, and distribute scorecards, predetermined reports, and ad‑hoc reports to enable decision‑making at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen data accuracy and/or enhance efficiency/productivity.
• Prepare process documents and training materials to conduct training of different business users globally regarding MDM processes.

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree or MBA in Operations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP ECC or S/4 Production Planning processes and experience in the manufacturing domain.
• Good understanding of Supply Chain Operations.
• Good experience with various Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge in performing root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience with data migration, validation, and testing support for SIT and UAT.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, able to communicate cross‑functionally.
• Good understanding of Master Data Management Processes like Material/Product, Vendor & Customer Master.

Preferred Qualifications

Six Sigma certified professional with proven ability to apply data‑driven methodologies for process optimization, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
