WPP in Chennai is hiring a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports across AUNZ Finance and Operations. You will translate requirements into actionable visuals, model data, secure data access, and provide ad hoc analyses in partnership with the Head of Data & Analytics.

The role requires 4+ years of Power BI experience, strong SQL, DAX, Power Query skills, and effective stakeholder communication within a hybrid office setup.

Why we're hiring:

The Business Intelligence Developer drives the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports used across AUNZ Finance and Operations. This role bridges data and stakeholders - translating requirements into intuitive, actionable dashboards, providing first-level support to end users, and delivering ad hoc analysis in partnership with the Head of Data & Analytics.

What you'll be doing:

KRA 1 Dashboard Design & Development

• Translate business requirements into intuitive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Create wireframes and proof-of-concepts aligned with requirements, adhering to design standards.
• Develop custom visuals where native Power BI functionality does not meet business needs.
• Maintain quality control standards across own projects prior to release.

KRA 2 Data Modelling & Security

• Design and refine data models underpinning dashboards, building on curated datasets.
• Implement and maintain row-level and application-layer security to ensure appropriate data access.
• Manage and monitor scheduled data refreshes, proactively resolving issues.

KRA 3 Support & Ad Hoc Analysis

• Act as first-level support desk for reporting/dashboard tickets, resolving the majority independently and escalating complex or technical issues as appropriate.
• Manage access/permissions administration (joiners, movers, leavers) in line with governance controls.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to the Head of Data & Analytics and AUNZ stakeholders as required.

KRA 4 Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain documentation for dashboards, reports, and business logic within the reporting layer.
• Monitor data quality within dashboards, identifying and escalating inconsistencies.
• Monitor the Power BI roadmap and identify opportunities to adopt new features and best practice.

What you'll need:

• 4+ years' hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Proficient in DAX and Power Query; strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience implementing RLS and application-layer security models in Power BI.
• Understanding of financial or operational data is desirable but not required.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders on requirements and ad hoc requests.
