Job summary

STATE STREET CORPORATION is seeking an experienced AVP for Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing in Bangalore to lead the design, delivery, modernization, and governance of enterprise data platforms.

You will manage a team of BI developers, data engineers, ETL specialists, and data analysts, steering modernization, cloud migrations, analytics, and AI-enabled reporting to enable data-driven decisions across Finance and Business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics, or Data Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams and large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions in financial services or similar regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.

• Data Warehousing & Engineering Lead architecture, development, and support of enterprise-scale Data Warehouse solutions. Design scalable data models including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Data Marts, and Aggregation Layers.
• Business Intelligence & Analytics Lead delivery of enterprise reporting, dashboards, self-service BI, and analytical solutions.
• Technology & Innovation Evaluate and implement emerging data technologies and cloud-native solutions. Drive automation using Python, APIs, workflow orchestration, and modern engineering practices.
• Operational Excellence Ensure high platform availability, stability, and resiliency. Manage production support, incident management, capacity planning, and service improvements.
• Stakeholder Management Communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders. Provide transparent status reporting on roadmap, risks, dependencies, and achievements.

Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing to lead the design, delivery, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise data warehousing, reporting, analytics, and data visualization platforms. This role will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, BI developers, and data analysts supporting critical Finance and business intelligence applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Data Warehousing and BI platforms with proven leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and a passion for driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy Lead and mentor a team of BI developers, data engineers, ETL specialists, and support engineers. Define and execute the roadmap for Data Warehouse, Reporting, Analytics, and Visualization platforms. Drive modernization initiatives including cloud migration, automation, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled reporting solutions. Partner with Finance, Product, Operations, Risk, and Technology stakeholders to prioritize and deliver strategic data initiatives. Establish engineering best practices, governance standards, and data quality frameworks.
• Data Warehousing & Engineering Lead architecture, development, and support of enterprise-scale Data Warehouse solutions. Design scalable data models including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Data Marts, and Aggregation Layers. Oversee ETL/ELT development, data integration, and orchestration frameworks. Ensure adherence to data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security standards. Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of warehouse platforms.
• Business Intelligence & Analytics Lead delivery of enterprise reporting, dashboards, self-service BI, and analytical solutions. Collaborate with business partners to translate requirements into actionable insights. Promote adoption of data visualization best practices and KPI standardization. Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to measure business performance.
• Technology & Innovation Evaluate and implement emerging data technologies and cloud-native solutions. Drive automation using Python, APIs, workflow orchestration, and modern engineering practices. Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and observability standards. Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML and advanced analytics to improve business outcomes.
• Operational Excellence Ensure high platform availability, stability, and resiliency. Manage production support, incident management, capacity planning, and service improvements. Drive reduction of technical debt and operational risks. Maintain compliance with security, audit, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Management Communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders. Provide transparent status reporting on roadmap, risks, dependencies, and achievements. Influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across business and technology organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics, or Data Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams and large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions in financial services or similar regulated industries.

Technical Expertise

• Exposure to GenAI, Predictive Analytics, and AI-driven reporting solutions.
• Experience managing globally distributed teams.
