Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Strong SQL skills including joins, window functions and tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI or Tableau, including calculated fields.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (star schema).
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into KPIs, metrics and reporting solutions
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries to extract, transform and analyse data from multiple sources
• Develop and maintain data models, ensuring consistency, accuracy and performance
• Perform ad hoc analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities
• Monitor data quality, validate reports and resolve discrepancies
• Automate recurring reports and reduce manual reporting effort
• Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Work with data engineers on pipelines, data warehouse requirements and data governance
• Document data definitions, report logic and dashboard usage guides

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Commerce or a related field
• 0 to 2 years of experience in BI, data analytics or reporting
• Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, window functions, CTEs, performance tuning)
• Hands-on experience with Power BI or Tableau, including DAX or calculated fields
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query)
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (star schema, fact and dimension tables)
