Job summary

ElasticRun is seeking a Senior Manager - Business Finance to lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with founders and CXOs to translate financial insights into actionable business decisions and drive profitability.

The role requires Chartered Accountant with 6+ years in FP&A and 2–3 years in operations heavy industries; you will own MBR/QBR, KPI tracking, and cross-functional collaboration across logistics, warehousing, and retail operations.

Qualifications

• CA with at least 6 years in business finance/FP&A roles.
• 2–3 years in operations heavy industry.
• Experience owning MBR/QBR processes and presenting to leadership.
• Background in fast-paced, operations-heavy business (logistics, warehousing, retail, or manufacturing).
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in multi-unit environments.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting and forecasting cycles; track performance vs budget with variance analysis.
• Track and report key KPIs (revenue per unit, contribution margin, utilization, working capital).
• Lead financial discussions with senior leadership and present data-backed recommendations.
• Own the end-to-end MBR process and consolidate monthly business reviews.
• Drive profitability through P&L analysis, margin tracking, and pricing recommendations.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives and benchmark spend with operations to save costs.

About the Role

The Business Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities to support the business's strategic goals. This role involves managing budgeting processes, forecasting, financial modeling, and providing actionable insights to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with business acumen to guide decision‑making and improve profitability.

Key Deliverables (What Will You Do)

• Own budgeting and forecasting cycles; track performance against budget with variance analysis and clear reasoning on deviations.
• Track and report key business KPIs (revenue per unit, contribution margin, utilization, working capital) and flag risks/opportunities proactively.
• Lead financial discussions with senior leadership, present business performance, and drive key decisions with data‑backed recommendations, as & when required.
• Own the MBR process end-to-end: prepare, consolidate, and present monthly business reviews covering revenue, margins, costs, and key operational metrics.
• Drive profitability improvement through client/business‑line P&L analysis, margin tracking, and pricing recommendations.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives identify cost leakages, benchmark spend, and work with operations to implement savings while protecting service delivery.
• Build and maintain financial models for new business pitches, client proposals, and internal decision‑making.
• Partner with business/operations teams to translate financial insights into actionable business decisions.
• Support commercial structuring and due diligence for new client onboarding and business expansion.
• Drive process improvements in reporting, financial controls, and cross‑functional workflows.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, SOPs, and audit/compliance requirements.

Job Specification (What Will You Need)

• Chartered accountant with atleast 6 years of experience in business finance/FP&A roles, with at least 2 to 3 years in operations heavy industry.
• Prior experience working closely with founders, CXOs, or business heads, not just a back‑office reporting function.
• Experience owning MBR/QBR processes and presenting to leadership.
• Background in a fast‑paced, operations‑heavy business (logistics, warehousing, quick‑commerce, retail, or manufacturing preferred) comfort with unit economics and operational KPIs, not just accounting numbers.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a multi‑business‑unit or multi‑client environment
• Proactive, Self -starter & Comfortable challenging founders/senior leadership with data‑backed points; confident communicator, not just an analyst.
• Strong business acumen & High ownership mindset
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast‑growing environment with evolving processes and limited handholding.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, sales, and client teams, translating finance language into operational action.
