Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Business Analyst specialized in Capital Markets (Middle Office/Back Office) for Chennai/Pune locations. The role requires 6–12 years of experience and hands-on work with FSDs, documentation, and data-driven analysis across Middle and Back Office processes.

The candidate will participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver clear requirements and effective solutions. Immediate joiners preferred.

Qualifications

• Capital Markets experience focusing on Middle Office and Back Office operations.
• Experience creating Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and solution documentation.
• Strong data extraction and analysis using SQL with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiarity with Broadridge Back Office applications (BPS, IMPACT, GLOSS).

Responsibilities

• Document Capital Markets requirements with business and technology stakeholders.
• Prepare FSDs, solution documentation, BRs, and process flows.
• Support data analysis and validation through database queries.
• Work across Middle Office and Back Office processes and applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Coordinate with development, testing, and business teams during delivery lifecycle.
• Support requirements and functional analysis related to clearing and settlement processes.

Mandatory Skills

• Minimum 5–8 years of Capital Markets experience, specifically within Middle Office and Back Office operations.
• Hands-on experience in FSD (Functional Specification Document) preparation and Solution Documentation.
• Strong experience in data extraction and analysis using RDBMS and/or Non-RDBMS queries.
• Experience working with Agile sprint ceremonies as well as Waterfall methodology.
• Knowledge/experience with Broadridge Back Office applications, including:

Good to Have

• Experience with DTC/CDS processes related to Clearing and/or Settlement.
