Job summary

Bandhan Life Insurance Limited in Mumbai is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst cum Tester to drive digital initiatives in the life insurance domain. You will collect requirements, craft user stories with acceptance criteria, and conduct end-to-end manual testing including API testing.

You will bridge business and technology teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and participate in sprint planning to ensure quality before releases while collaborating with QA and development on

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in Life Insurance domain (preferred)
• Experience in requirements gathering and user story creation
• Hands-on experience in manual testing and defect management
• Exposure to API testing and microservices architectures
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies

Responsibilities

The role involvesrequirement gathering, user story creation, and end-to-end manual testing,along with strong exposure to API testing and microservices-basedarchitectures.

Role Summary

1. Business Analysis
   • Collaborate with stakeholders (Business, Operations,Product, Compliance) to gather and document requirements
   • Create clear and structured user stories withacceptance criteria
   • Translate business requirements into functionalspecifications and workflows
   • Participate in requirement walkthroughs, groomingsessions, and sprint planning
   • Ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines (IRDAI)and internal processes where applicable
   • Managing user story movement / tracking in JIRA
   • Publishing periodic updates on the status of theSprint/ Epics/ User stories/ Bugs etc.
2. Testing& Quality Assurance
   • Design and execute manual test cases and testscenarios
   • Perform functional, regression, UAT, and integrationtesting
   • Identify, log, and track defects to closure usingdefect management tools/ JIRA
   • Ensure quality and completeness of deliverables beforerelease and doing post prod monitoring
3. API & Microservices Testing
   • Understand system architecture involving microservicesand distributed systems
   • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman
   • Validate request-response structures, status codes,payloads, and error handling
   • Work closely with development teams to troubleshootAPI-level issues
   • Participate in integration testing across services
4. Stakeholder Coordination
   • Act as a bridge between business teams and technologyteams
   • Support UAT cycles and obtain business sign-offs
   • Provide periodic updates on progress, risks, andissues

Qualifications & Competencies

• 3-4 years ofexperience in Life Insurance domain shall be preferred
• Policy lifecycle (issuance, servicing, claims)
• Regulatory awareness (IRDAI guidelines - good to have)
• Strongexperience in user story creation (Agile framework)
• Hands-onexperience in manual testing and defect management
• Workingknowledge of API testing tools (Postman etc.)
• Understandingof microservices architecture and integration flows
• Familiaritywith Agile / Scrum methodology
