Job summary

Purview Services is seeking an experienced security leader to manage Akamai WAF implementation for external web applications. The role focuses on building delivery teams, mentoring staff, and defining KPIs for successful deployments.

The candidate will drive program-level initiatives, perform security assessments, and coordinate with engineering and capability teams to ensure robust web application security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 6–8 years of cybersecurity experience with focus on web app security/WAF.
• Proficiency in Akamai WAF configuration and management.

Responsibilities

• Build & manage the delivery teams of Cyber security including Business Analysts, WAF Engineers, F5 Engineers.
• Mentor & train resources within team to ensure competency building.
• Drive program-level initiatives, requirements gathering & define success KPIs for deliverables.
• Lead deployment and configuration of Akamai WAF solutions for external facing web applications.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis for WAF configurations.
• Collaborate with security operations to respond to and mitigate web app security incidents.
• Communicate with Program, Engineering and capability teams and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with security trends and Akamai product updates to enhance client web app security posture.
• Ensure end-to-end delivery life cycle of Akamai WAF deployment on applications.
• Regular reporting to stakeholders on deliveries, KPIs & upcoming tasks forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

•

  • Build & manage the delivery teams of Cyber security including Business Analysts, WAF Engineers, F5 Engineers.

• Project Delivery: Driving the program level initiatives, requirement gathering & defining success KPIs for Deliverables.


• Akamai WAF Implementation: Lead the deployment and configuration of Akamai WAF solutions for external facing web applications.


• Security Analysis: Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis to ensure the effectiveness of WAF configurations.


• Incident Response: Collaborate with the security operations team to respond to and mitigate web application security incidents.


• Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with Program team, Engineering team & capability teams with managing active communications with all stakeholders.


• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest security trends and Akamai product updates to continuously enhance client web application security posture.


• Delivery life cycle: Ensure the time bound delivery success with driving the end to end life cycle of Akamai Web application Firewall deployment on applications.


• Reporting: Regular reporting to stakeholders on the team Deliveries, KPI & upcoming tasks forecasting.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.


• Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on web application security and WAF technologies.


• Technical Skills:
  
  
  
  • Proficiency in Akamai WAF configuration and management.
  
  
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS, HTML, JavaScript, and web application frameworks.
  
  
  • Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
  
  
  • Knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities and OWASP Top 10.
  
  
  
  


• Certifications: Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Akamai certifications are a plus.


• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


• Project Lead Skills: Sprint planning, hosting retrospectives, managing Jira boards & resource task assignments.

Additional Requirements:

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all WAF implementations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.


• Project Management: Experience in managing security projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.


• Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the dynamic nature of cybersecurity threats and organizational needs.
