Responsibilities

• Elicit and document requirements from engineering, operations, and IT stakeholders.
• Define data models and telemetry payloads for IoT device communication.
• Collaborate with the architecture team for system specifications.
• Map integration workflows and define validation logic.
• Prepare and maintain essential documentation like BRD and FRS.
• Validate IoT payloads and create test scripts for edge-to-cloud scenarios.
• Support end-user training and acceptance testing.

Job description

Business Analyst – IoT & Smart Infrastructure

Location: Kolkata (Primary)

Travel: Required within India and abroad as per project needs

Reports To: Program Manager – Asset Management & Industry 4.0

Role Objective

To serve as the techno-functional bridge between operations, engineering, and software teams in large-scale Industry 4.0 and IoT-driven digital transformation programs for PSUs in Oil & Natural Gas, utilities, and heavy industries. The role focuses on defining end-to-end IoT workflows, data integration, and smart infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit and document requirements from engineering, operations, and IT stakeholders for IoT-based asset monitoring and predictive maintenance.
• Define sensor-to-cloud data models, telemetry payloads, and event rules for device and gateway communication.
• Collaborate with the architecture team to translate functional requirements into microservices-based system specifications.
• Map OT–IT integration workflows and define validation logic for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization.
• Prepare and maintain BRD, FRS, SRS, and data flow diagrams using ADO (Azure DevOps).
• Validate IoT payloads, create test scripts for edge-to-cloud scenarios, and coordinate with field teams during pilots.
• Support end-user training, rollout documentation, and acceptance testing for PSU and industrial clients in India and overseas.

• Exposure to digital transformation projects led by Big 4 consulting houses or national system integrators
• Strong written and verbal communication, and stakeholder management across technical and business teams
