Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking a hands-on BI Analyst to assist in building and maintaining Tableau dashboards that support operational reporting. The role involves documenting requirements, performing basic data analysis to surface trends, and translating findings into concise summaries for team review.

You will write and run basic T-SQL queries, maintain Excel-based reports, and contribute to internal PowerPoint presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, CS or related quantitative field.
• 1–2 years in data analysis, BI, or related role (internships accepted).
• Foundational knowledge of Tableau or similar tools; coursework or projects ok.
• Basic SQL/T-SQL for data querying and reporting.
• Proficient in Excel with formulas, pivot tables and charts.
• Attention to detail; good written and verbal communication; collaborative.

Job Summary

Assist in the development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards to support operational reporting needs. Support requirements-gathering sessions by documenting notes, capturing action items, and organizing meeting outputs. Perform basic data analysis to identify trends and surface preliminary insights under the direction of senior analysts. Help translate analytical findings into clear summaries and supporting materials for team review. Write and execute basic T-SQL queries to extract data from structured sources. Maintain and update Excel-based reports using standard formulas, pivot tables, and charts. Assist in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations to support internal reporting and program updates. Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to understand data needs and ensure timely delivery of outputs. Support data quality checks to validate accuracy and consistency across reporting sources. Contribute to team documentation efforts, including process notes, data dictionaries, and workflow summaries.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. 1-2 year of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role; internship experience is accepted. Foundational knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization tools; demonstrated coursework or project exposure preferred. Basic proficiency in SQL/T-SQL for data querying and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and basic charting. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under structured guidance. Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Exposure to Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools is a plus but not required.
