Job description

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in data-intensive business initiatives, data integration, data warehouse solutions, and enterprise technology transformation. The ideal candidate should have the ability to understand complex business processes, analyze data flows, document functional requirements, and translate business needs into clear specifications for technical teams.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, developers, QA teams, and operational teams to define requirements, assess business impacts, document existing and future-state processes, and ensure that data solutions meet business expectations. The role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, and experience with data mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across business and technical teams, managing requirements through the delivery lifecycle, and supporting enterprise data initiatives across different business domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage business stakeholders, subject matter experts, data owners, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and validate business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to understand business processes, reporting requirements, data dependencies, and operational needs.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, business rules, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze existing business processes, data flows, applications, and integration patterns to understand current-state functionality.
• Document source systems, target systems, data inputs, outputs, transformation rules, processing frequency, and downstream consumers.
• Perform impact analysis to assess the business and operational implications of system changes, data transformations, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify dependencies involving databases, ETL workflows, external vendor feeds, internal extracts, datasets, and reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mapping documents, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and requirements traceability matrices.
• Translate business rules and reporting requirements into clear functional requirements for developers and solution architects.
• Work with data engineers and developers to validate that implemented solutions align with approved business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to simplify business processes, consolidate redundant data processing, improve data quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Define data validation rules, expected outcomes, business control totals, reconciliation requirements, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support test planning, test scenario development, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate business validation of data outputs and assist in investigating discrepancies with technical teams.
• Document defects, assess business impact, prioritize issues, and track resolution through the appropriate delivery processes.
• Maintain requirements traceability from initial business needs through solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews, requirement sign-offs, business approvals, and operational readiness activities.
• Maintain business process documentation, decision logs, issue registers, risk records, and meeting outcomes.
• Support change management, knowledge transfer, and transition of new or enhanced processes to business and operational teams.
• Communicate project status, business impacts, dependencies, and outstanding decisions clearly to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in data integration, data warehousing, data migration, reporting, or enterprise technology initiatives.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, workshop facilitation, and business process analysis.
• Proven ability to document business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data integration concepts.
• Experience preparing source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, data flow documentation, and requirements traceability matrices.
• Ability to analyze data dependencies, downstream impacts, processing requirements, and business-critical data flows.
• Experience supporting data quality validation, reconciliation, testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate data discrepancies and clarify complex business rules.
• Experience coordinating with developers, solution architects, QA teams, business users, and operational stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and requirements or work-tracking tools.
• Strong documentation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requirements and workstreams while maintaining accuracy and traceability.
