YASH Technologies, Inc. seeks a Business Analyst with expertise in tax technology and Vertex configurations to support end-to-end tax automation for global operations.

You will collaborate with Finance, IT, and Tax teams to ensure accurate tax calculations, strong controls, and scalable processes. This hybrid role in Pune blends tax analysis with Vertex configuration and integration.

Qualifications

• Experience 4–6 years in business analysis or tax technology.
• Own end-to-end indirect tax determination and automation in Vertex.
• Hybrid role combining tax analysis/compliance with Vertex configuration & integration.
• Knowledge of EU VAT and e-invoicing readiness.
• Strong data handling, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Validate US sales/use tax and global VAT/GST calculations in Vertex; resolve exceptions.
• Maintain product/customer taxability rules, exemption certificates, and special tax treatments (services, digital goods, mixed bundles).
• Translate tax law changes into system/process changes (EU VAT B2B/B2C, marketplace facilitator, cross-border flows).
• Configure Vertex O Series/Cloud: taxability rules, product categories, customer tax flags, jurisdictions/rates, and overrides.
• Govern environments (dev/test/prod), and releases; document runbooks and rollback plans.
• Implement monitoring and alerting (calc failures, latency, exception queues); drive MTTR down with structured incident response.

You will own end-to-end indirect tax determination and automation in Vertex. This hybrid role combines tax analysis/compliance with Vertex configuration & integration , ensuring accurate tax calculation, strong controls, and scalable architecture for global operations—including EU VAT and e‑invoicing readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate U.S. sales/use tax and global VAT/GST calculations in Vertex; resolve exceptions and root causes.
• Maintain product/customer taxability rules, exemption certificates, and special tax treatments (services, digital goods, mixed bundles).
• Work with business to understand tax law changes (EU VAT B2B/B2C, marketplace facilitator, cross‑border flows) and translate into system/process changes.
• Configure Vertex O Series/Cloud: taxability rules, product categories, customer tax flags, jurisdictions/rates, and overrides.
• Govern environments (dev/test/prod), and releases; document runbooks and rollback plans.
• Implement monitoring and alerting (calc failures, latency, exception queues); drive MTTR down with structured incident response.

3) Data, Testing & Enablement

• Align master data (materials/services tax categories, customer tax indicators) and ensure clean, consistent mappings.
• Author and execute unit/integration/UAT test cases for tax changes, upgrades, and regional rollouts.
• Build analytical reports/dashboards for tax accuracy, variance trends, exceptions, filing timeliness, and system health.
• Train Finance/Tax Ops and Support teams; publish SOPs and design documents with traceability for audits.
• Tax Knowledge:
• U.S. Sales/Use Tax, VAT/GST fundamentals (B2B/B2C, place of supply, exemptions, reverse charge).
• EU VAT for cross‑border e‑commerce (distance selling, OSS/IOSS ), marketplace facilitator rules.
• Technical Skills:
• Vertex O Series/Cloud configuration and administration.
• Familiarity with APIs/web services , JSON/XML payloads; SQL for data queriesand reconciliation.
• Strong Excel ; comfortable with data validation, pivots, and variance analysis.

Soft Skills: Analytical rigor, documentation excellence, cross-functional collaboration (Tax, IT, Finance, Ops), and clear communication.
