1. Business Analysis for Investment Banking Data Products
- Serve as the primary business analyst for investment banking data products and financial data assets.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders in Finance, Product Control, Middle Office, and Front Office.
- Translate business and accounting rules into clear functional requirements for data pipelines, reporting tools, and analytical platforms.
- Develop data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, validation rules, and control frameworks.
2. Finance & Accounting Expertise
- Apply strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and product-level accounting for derivatives, fixed income, equities, and structured products.
- Assist in designing data models for P&L, balance sheet, trade lifecycle, valuations, and financial metrics.
- Ensure accurate representation of financial concepts within data platforms in collaboration with Finance teams.
3. Data Analysis & Technical Enablement
- Use advanced SQL to extract and analyze large datasets for requirement validation, reconciliations, and data quality checks.
- Leverage Python and/or VBA to create prototypes, automate recurring analyses, and support data validation frameworks.
- Work with data engineering teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, transformations, and control mechanisms.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Technology, Data Engineering, Finance, Risk, and Operations teams to drive project execution.
- Participate in solution design discussions, UAT testing, and go-live support for new data features or releases.
- Act as a subject matter expert on finance and accounting concepts during product development cycles.
