Job Purpose

The Strategy & Business Development Manager drives long-term organizational growth. This role combines industry research, strategic planning and hands-on commercial execution. The successful candidate identifies new market opportunities, builds strategic partnerships, and executes deals to expand the company's market share and revenue footprint.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Market Intelligence

• Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, benchmarking and emerging technologies to identify threats and opportunities.
• Strategic Planning: Identify growth opportunities which are adjacent to companys line of business. Assist leadership in formulating three-to-five-year growth plans, corporate goals, and go-to-market strategies.
• Financial Modelling: Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and financial forecasts for new initiatives or geographic expansion.
• Data Synthesis: Transform complex market data into actionable executive insights and presentations for the Board.

2. Business Development & Partnership Management

• Pipeline / lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and engage with prospects for identified business opportunities. Cross functional collaboration with R&D and manufacturing plant to convert leads into actual sales.
• Deal Execution: Contribute in the end-to-end commercial process, including initial pitching, structuring terms, and closing agreements with joint venture partners and strategic allies.
• Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with legal and finance teams to negotiate complex commercial contracts and service-level agreements.

Skills & Competencies

• Analytical capability: Market analysis, Financial modelling, data analytics, trade data analysis and strategic framework proficiency. Knowledge of data sources for market research is must. Knowledge of advanced analytics tools for these would be an added advantage.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently influence senior level executives
• Project Management: Highly organized self-starter capable of managing multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.
• Any experience in M&A and deal making (e.g. CDMO) would be added advantage
