Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, India, seeks an Associate to support the Branch Operations for the equities desk. The role covers daily deal processing, confirmations, exchange settlements and regulatory reporting within the Indian capital markets framework.

You will engage with clients and internal teams, ensuring compliance, timely trade give-ups and active issue resolution while keeping abreast of SEBI and exchange changes affecting operations.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years’ experience with Indian capital markets or settlements.
• Background in broking preferred.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong written and spoken communication.
• Experience with regulatory changes and audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulation for clearing member operations.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the derivatives desk.
• Provide transparent risk, issues tracking and status reporting.
• Resolve client queries within agreed time frames.
• Stay updated on exchange/SEBI changes and impacts.
• Place and release collateral at NSE.
• Understand FNO and currency clearing and settlement.
• Monitor real-time position limits and margins.
• Ensure timely give up of trades and coordinate with exchanges.
• Know exchange settlement processes and perform reconciliations.
• Suggest system enhancements and support new requirements.
• Set up new clearing accounts and participate in audits.

This specialized position involves daily deal processing, confirmation, exchange settlements, and regulatory reporting for the operations team of Deutsche Equities India Private Limited.

Your key responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all regulation applicable aspects as a clearing member (TM-CM)
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the listed derivatives desk.
• Ensure transparency across all program activities, risks, issues tracking, and status reporting
• Manage and effectively resolve all incoming queries from clients within a pre-agreed time frame.
• Familiarity with existing/upcoming Exchange/SEBI regulated changes and impact to operational flows
• Placing and release of collateral at NSE
• Understand of the FNO and Currency clearing and settlement mechanism
• Monitor real time position limits and margin
• Ensure timely give up of trades
• Coordinate with exchange and brokers
• Knowledge of exchange settlement process
• Ensure seamless day to day operation
• Proactively suggest to system vendors for any new requirement & enhancement needed
• Responsible for new clearing account setup
• Ensure all daily reconciliation are performed and exception worked upon
• Prepare & update the “procedure manual” on a regular basis
• Participate in internal and external audits

Your skills and experience

• 5-6 years’ experience with Indian capital markets, derivatives, or settlements Background in broking would be preferred.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, dedication to service, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Effective at communicating both orally and in writing
