Job summary

IDFC FIRST Bank’s Branch Manager role leads the Retail Banking team, overseeing operations, customer experience, and performance. You will drive growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide a team to deliver exceptional service across all branch functions.

The role requires a seasoned leader with deep knowledge of banking products, strong people skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to meet targets and enhance customer value. This position includes travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail banking.
• At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role within a banking environment.
• Fluent in English with strong business communication skills.
• Proven knowledge of banking products, services, and operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations including customer service, sales, and staff management.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch targets and business goals.
• Monitor branch performance metrics and take corrective actions where necessary.
• Achieve overall product targets for the branch including CASA, Term Deposits, Investments, Insurance, Trade Services, Retail Assets & Business Banking products.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while promoting bank products and services.
• Lead, coach, and motivate branch staff to meet individual and team performance goals.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a low attrition rate within the branch
• Ensure hiring is aligned as per the manpower budgets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and drive growth.
• Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports on branch activities and performance to senior management.
• Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
• Contribute to local marketing and outreach efforts to increase brand visibility and customer acquisition.

What We Are Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
